BBC7 is broadcasting their reading of The Day Of The Triffids. I've never read the book, and personally I enjoyed the film 'version' (yes, I did), but this adaptation seems very good to me. Good in that is sickening.

You will need Real Player installed, even if you use the BBC's own player. It's on for half an hour each day, and since today is Wednesday, you can follow the first two links already. It runs for 17 episodes I think.

If you try the other links, you'll get whatever they were broadcasting last week.

Sinister stuff, give it a go.

You should read the book Jon!

Most BBC radio shows are available online for a week after broadcast, so get these quick if you want them.

Radio 7, available on digital radio and the internet (http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbc7/), often broadcasts some good repeats. They recently broadcast several Terry Pratchett adaptations (Small gods, Maurice, Mort) and Dracula for example. The BBC website(s) have a searchable index of 'listen again' downloads. Unlike TV shows they can be listened to from abroad.

You can't save the shows directly to a PC, although it's simple enough to capture the stream with software like Audacity.
