I've recently bought TI3 and need some method to store the pieces between plays, rather than just stuff them all in the box, to make it quicker to set up. Can anyone recommend where I can get some bags or something else that would be effective? I figure I probably want some small bags for each race's tokens. larger ones for the cards, and larger still for the miniatures.

Thanks in advance.

I recently used..

http://www.em4miniatures.com/acatalog/GRIPSEAL_BAGS.html

Their service was very quick, and as a bonus, each item I ordered came in its own baggie, including the baggies. then the whole order came in an even bigger baggie. meeplemeeplemeeple

Thanks a lot, seems spot on. Only posted here a few times, and always surprised how quickly I get a helpful response. :)

Which size bags do you think I need? (I have a ruler, just don't have a good feel what the volume of the bags is).

Here's a couple of shots of my TI2 that has been bagged. I know the box for TI3 is much larger so I assume the components are too. But, if you've also played TI2 then you'll have an idea of scale. The bags I used were 100mm x 150mm. I hope this is of some use to you!

Since the TI3 box is so big, you can be a bit more creative with your storage options. After a bit of experimentation, I found that index card holders can store a player's pieces pretty well.

I can recommend the seller stationery_boxes_n_bags on ebay.

I used them while I was in the UK and was very happy with the price and the product.

I have thousands of bags available in various sizes. I put up Geek auctions every once in a while, and also have them for sale in the marketplace under Miscellaneous Game Accessory. Sizes I have include:

3x6
4x4
4x6
6x6
6x8

I can also get some other sizes. Shipping to UK shouldn't be too much for these, so if you want to make it easy and not have to wait for an eBay auction or buy hundreds of bags to get a decent price, just geekmail me and we'll work something out. Shipping to UK shouldn't be too bad.

We got a whole load at a high street stationery store (Ours, in Bristol was called DCBs, but there'll be one). You want the 'no-fun' office type store that sells stuff like invoice books and the like for small businesses.

Another option is party shops - the specialist ones that do absolutely everything - they often have resealable bags, for reasons I'm not very clear on! Our local one is called Flingers, but there's bound to be a local one for you!

Cheers

Go to your local (friendly?) High Street bank/building society! They give them away for free! They aren't re-sealable,but sort of tuck under-still OK & free!

Tesco sells them too, quite inexpensive, though their 'small' size is still fairly large (18 x 20 cm)

I bought all mine from http://www.gripseal.co.uk/

Good service and good prices - he'll even sell them individually if that's what you need!

InStore (cheap high street / retail park chain) sells resealable "freezer" bags in packs of 60 for £1. I use them for all my games.

High Streets do sell them and I use Ryman and another office stationer which sells bigger ones.

They can be slightly tricky to get hold of as (Winchester being an example) the local police ask shops not to sell them because people stash their, er, other stuff in them.

For the TI3 ships, I use the business card boxes from the Really Useful Box Co. that Ryman also sell. They neatly hold all of the ships, prevent crushing, and still fit in the TI3 box :o)
