Is it true that if a unit is in a contested area, it must be either an infantry or armor unit to exit that area? (regardless of the actual MF cost to exit)?
I.e. let's say I have two of the 82nd Abn div's Artillery units in Groesbeek, but the Germans have infiltrated one infantry unit in the next impulse. Is it true that the Arty units can't leave during an impulse, even if they pay all MF?
For the same situation, would the arty units be unable to regroup out of the contested area into a free/friendly area because it is a non-infantry/armor unit in a contested area?
First question: not true. You can always exit a contested area. But you'd have to stop in the example you provide.
Second question: you may always regroup out of a contested area. The area you regroup to must be Free.
