Players: Joris, Leen, Nathalie and Wouter
Starting the sunday afternoon gaming session, Nathalie suggested we played Adel Verpflichtet. For all of us, it was our 2nd-3rd time we played this game.
Joris took a rapid start on the game board by only showing his initial 3 card art collection on the first rounds. The other players went for the auction house, where Nathalie wasn't very lucky acquiring new pieces for her collection. After several round, Leen and Wouter were able to catch up with Joris around the first corner with Nathalie still on the first house.
Then things stalled for Joris, Leen and Wouter as neither of them was able to advance thereby enabling Nathalie to catch up. A few rounds later, Wouter was able to take over the lead and fully concentrated on showing of his collection and sprinted around the last corner towards the dining room. He landed on the last house with a comfortable lead and only needed a single 1st or 2nd place in the castle to enter the dining room.
But by that time, Leen and Nathalie had acquired a 10/9-card collection and both fully concentrated on showing their card collection in order to catch up with Wouter. Since Wouter stood on a 5/3 house and only had a 7-card collection, they both were able to close in pretty fast. Wouter tried to acquire some cards by stealing from Leen but didn't got the right ones to expand his collection. He tried to get a final card from the auction house but overlooked that he didn't have any money. This mistake took him out of the race. Leen was able to enter the dining room and with the final exposition, both Leen and Nathalie both entered the dining room.
The winner was Leen followed by Nathalie, Wouter and Joris.
Game aftermath: Everybody very much enjoyed the game. This was because of the high player interaction and the 'I-think-that-you-think-that...' factor which lead to lots of funny situations. I rate it an 7 because of its fun player interaction, its appeal to both gamers and non-gamers and its (for me) original gameplay.
County: West Yorkshire
It's a great game. You'll rate it even higher if you can find a 5th player.
