Well, I was all set for this one. I pre-ordered from Boulder Games about a month and a half ago and my complete order was coming my way with my UPS tracking number. However, upon opening my box of games. Merlin's Company was absent. However, I got a check for $24 and change. Puzzled as the order shipped just as distributors like TH got it in stock, I emailed Boulder Games about my order and got the following reply:
i'm very sorry if you didn't get the email shipping was supposed to send
to everyone about us not stocking merlin's company. dow has decided to
only let alliance distribute their games. we have an account with
alliance but almost never use it because we don't like the way they try
to get exclusives. we don't like anything that limits free enterprise
and competition. so, in short, this is almost as bad as mayfair's
price-fixing and we will not support it.
So.. In order to get the game now, I have to wait for another big order, or shell out an extra $8 in shipping or so and go somewhere else.
Boulder is well within their right to stock the game, but had I known sooner, I probably would have ordered it elsewhere. Yeah.. I'm venting.. but I really don't know who to be mad at.. Not that it does any good anyway..
