I have been having a weird problem where I can't seem to do anything in the harvest phase without giving up playing occupation/minor improvements. Similarly, if I play good occupations/minor improvements, I can't seem to do anything in the harvest (if anything!). So here goes:
Poll
1. What is your average amount of played Occupations Cards each game?
0-1
2-3
4-5
6-7
2. What is your average amount of played Minor Improvement Cards each game? (Not including Major improvements.)
0-1
2-3
4-5
6-7

Poll created by Ambrose

I'm assuming that the occupations is actually in between answer 2 and answer 3. But I'm not sure, so I have the poll.

Tips on strategy regarding cards would be most welcome.

About 3-4 occupations and 3-5 or so minor improvements.

The average number during (my) play is about 2-3 of each.

But if "Reeve" or "Tutor" are in play (or both like my last game)... 5 occupations were played! (19 points! WOO!)

An average number is 5-6 cards mixing Improvements and Occupation, in my experience

Slightly off topic I realize, but isn't the Reeve a bonus of 3 points TOTAL, not per occupation played? A 21-point card...just shouldn't exist.

Correct. The 'each' refers to the players not to the cards.

I am usually on the low side of occupations played because of the opportunity cost involved in playing them. Two is an most frequent, but three happens on occasion too. One is rare but happens far more than four.

I get tons of improvements down usually because of the combined actions involved and the fact that they rarely cost food.
