Using Windows XP sp 2. Created a new user account. Since it's no longer necessary, tried to delete said account. Error message reads: "This user ID may not be assigned as the owner of this object."

That seemed rather a non sequitur, so I googled the error message. Apparently there is a known glitch, but it is exclusively related to folder redirection on group computers, where mine is a standalone home computer.

By the way, I got the same message when I tried to change the account's name or type.

Anyone else ever encountered this?

I guess we're all supposed to assume that you weren't logged in to the account you were trying to delete? That's the sort of asinine message I'd expect from the lads at Microsoft if you were.
