If I switch to Chrome, will BGG still work for me? I guess that Adblocking might fail, but has anybody at Google checked with BGG?

Cheers,
Jon.

Sure thing, Google-employees have now started to ask everyone who runs a website if they have any special features or requests to add to Chrome or if they should rather withdraw their release, so far the internet has responded in the usual way - by expressing a strong and universal desire for porn O_o

Just try it, if BGG complies with current XHTML-standards and makes no heavy use of IE or FF-specific glitter there should be only minor problems...

I installed Chrome yesterday and have been testing it for a while. BGG seems to work fine, but as I don't have AdBlock I couldn't tel if that particular feature will work.

The best way to know is using it. It's a pretty fast installation (5 minutes at the most).

It has worked fine for me, including Ad-blocking.

Chrome uses WebKit, just like Safari, so it should work.

And I am a Google employee.

But I haven't tried Chrome, because I use a Mac.

Is there already an Adblock ad-in for Chrome?

I've found a few things that aren't working properly (or at all) in Chrome. I also miss all of my great Firefox apps when I used it so I'm going to hold off for now.

Not yet. But here is the workaround to block ads.

Wait! We've made it all the way down the thread without making a joke about Chrome!!!! Seriously, what has the world come to? OK, I'll do it then.

I'd move to Google's new web browser but then EVERYTHING I look at on BGG would be full of useless Chrome. I'd rather have cardboard bits.

Thanks, I'm here all week.

Krom tio, Krom-vortludado eblas ankaŭ en Esperanto!
(Besides that, Chrome-wordplay is also possible in Esperanto!)

It's hard to imagine switching from Firefox. Plus, I try not to do everything through Google, because it kinda creeps me out to completely rely on one company.

Like I do Apple. Ahem.

If you still use IE for anything (with Google toolbar installed) then be aware that Chrome may hose it.

We require IE at work for some applications, and someone decided to install Chrome (a non-approved program at this time). IE then started to get Windows exception errors. I disabled the Google add-ons and it started working correctly again. Apparently Chrome corrupted one of the add-ons where IE would no longer function, which I'm sure some of you would think is a good thing.

Anyway, easy fix: uninstall Google Toolbar, then reinstall if you so desire.

BGG worked fine for me. If you are using BGG Adblocking via subscription or it works fine. This is how my BGG Adblocking works and I was playing around with Chrome last night.

One think that annoyed me a little was that it was not consistently changing the colour of links that I had opened in other tabs (i.e. if you are working through an Updated Games GeekMail and opening many of the links you cannot be 100% sure which ones you have opened). This was on a XP machine.

I can't use it at my away from home location on Win 2000 though.

It does seem the initial beta of Chrome has a lot of problems, from what I've read, and isn't really ready for serious use. (E.g. it has bugs interacting with google's own docs.google.com for pete's sake!) I guess I'm glad they haven't released a Linux beta yet... let them get some of the blatant bugs out before I use it!

Yeah, they were forced to launch earlier than planned because the comic book was released too soon.

I'm Chroming right now.

Edit: Since Firefox 3 broke my PC's ability to have any version of Firefox on it, this releases me from the tyranny of IE.

I really couldn't tell if you were joking or serious. Comic book? Surely you're making a joke I'm just not quite getting... But maybe... so I googled and sure enough:
