When I was very young (5-6), my dad had about 5 lesser-known board games, which he kept in pristine quality. He went to work once and returned to find that my brother and I ruined one of his games. I'd really like to find this game and get it as a christmas present, but I don't know the name of it. All I know is that it was based in WWII aviation, and involved tiny miniature models of allied and axis planes. Does anyone happen to know what I'm talking about?

Austin, forgive the personal question, but how old are you now? It would help place the timeframe.

It sounds like Wings of War: Famous Aces, but that system came out in 2004 according to the database, so unless you are only 9, or 10, this probably isn't what you are looking for. It would probably be a good replacement though. It's a well thought of game. There are also a number of expansions. Although I think this might be based on WWI.

You and your brother are dicks!

Just kidding. What a great idea! Did you get punished for ruining his game?

He can still type, so not properly it seems.

this was roughly 14-15 years ago, and the games were older than that. I'm guessing the game itself is pre-1975. I'm 19 now. I'm hoping he might have saved a few of the airplane models, so maybe I can call my mom and see if she could get a picture of them.

The fact that he's still thinking about it is a good sign. This must have been one of those memorable personality-forming childhood events.

If my kids ever ruin a board game of mine, the memory had better haunt them until they die.

You've probably already tried this, but you could do an ebay search under different keywords. You might get lucky...

Might help if you could remember any more details - for example, if it was me as a little kid, I'd have broken in there and messed it up to play with the little plane models - so, do you remember how big the airplanes were? how many? fighters, bombers, or both (probably most easily remembered if you recall if the planes were multiengine...)

Any memories of size of the board or box?

I know, if you had more details you'd have given them - just trying to help jog the memory a little.

My son ruined my copy of Descent.
I figure, I can replace Descent, but I cannot replace my son.
