Honor his example of service, accomplishment and modesty, and the next time you walk outside on a clear night and see the moon smiling down at you, think of Neil Armstrong and give him a wink.

Howdy,
Just about complete with my build of Karim's MR redesign and I will be undertaking some solo games to start.

Is there a play balance issue if in solo play you don't preplan/record your daily activities?

Thanks!

Later, Mike S.

You can play like that while learning the game, but planning your activities for the day is part of the challenge of Magic Realm.

Even if the system is especially useful for multiplayer games, when you play solo, you still don't know what kind of monsters are going to be prowling when you choose your activities, and you also don't know what type of monsters or treasure sites will appear on unexplored tiles or whether that hide roll will succeed or fail. So choosing the activities as you play them will make the game easier as you will be able to adapt to events as they happen.

Anyway, try it that way first and when you want something more challenging, add the planning. Having fun is what's really important anyway (especially when playing solo).
