This will be a US-only MT. (Technically it will be open to anybody in the world that can receive shipments to a US address (I do know that there are some folks that live outside the US but travel to the US for work and/or can use a US address to receive packages)).
Pay close attention to the rules related to shipping, duplicates, and the rules related to quality of items offered.

Thanks to JeffyJeff, the OLWLG (see http://activityclub.org/bgg/mathtrade.cgi) will be available for this event. Use is super highly recommended but technically not required.

Executive Summary:
1. You MUST use a US shipping address
2. You (sender) MUST pay the full shipping costs
3. No Duplicates (see details below) and no Pre-Orders
4. Prior to the 750-offer barrier being broken - you can post offers of ANY games (in the database) but only limited non-game items (see restrictions below)
4. Only Tier 01 games can be offered (see details below).
5. Tier 02 and Tier 03 items will still be allowed as sweeteners only. Tier 03 still requires 5-1.
6. You should use the OLWLG (but are not required to do so)
7. You must use a Sweetener(s): tag or label if you are including sweeteners
8. Do not delete, substitute, or split an offered main item or any sweeteners once they are posted (see below for how to handle changes)

If you have no idea what a Math Trade is: In a nutshell, it's a way to trade a whole bunch of games by chaining together everybody's available games and matching them to what each person wants. A computer algorithm ensures fairness and removes risk: you can only get a game you prefer over what you are offering. (Or at worst, you may just keep your original offered game.) For more info on Math Trades in general, see http://www.boardgamegeek.com/wiki/page/Math_Trades.

Please, please, please read the complete rules (see below) prior to submitting any offer. Even if you have participated in past MT's and think that you know everything that there is to know, please read the rules for this particular MT.

Post-MT stats and interesting factoids:

What:
There will be no overall cap on the total number of items in this MT; however, this will be a 3-tiered MT (in an attempt to limit crap). Also, except for gift certificates, only items that are actually already in your possession may be listed (no pre-orders).

Tier 01:
Tier 01 games are the only items that will be permitted from this point forward except for sweeteners:
A. High Quality High Demand games: Any game (or expansion) that has an average rating of 7.5 or higher AND that has a Net Demand of at least 25 users (Net Demand = Number of Users Wanting the specific item minus the Number of Users Trading the specific item). Please note that the average rating as used here is the True Average (can be seen on the individual page for each game) and not the mathmatically-adjusted average that BGG uses for rankings. When when you offer a HighQualityHighDemand item, please include a statement in the Comments section of your entry that announces the net demand so that we all can see that you are in compliance with the +25 rule.
(Concept loosely based on Regai's Return of Regai - New Years MT, carl67lp's Tiers of Joy MT, Smilinbrax's Diminishing Returns MT, and citizen k's 6.6+ MT)
B. 18XX train games: Are always allowed and welcomed regardless of Average Ranking or Net Demand.
C. GMT games: Any company that offered free games to unemployed people also deserves preferential treatment. So anything from the GMT catalog is also allowed.
D. Requested Items: With a tip of the hat to JL Roberts who suggested something similar, any game that was officially requested on the Request GeekList can also be offered as a tier 01 item. If you offer a Requested Item, please insert a note in your comments to state such. (You may also want to go to the Request GeekList and insert a poiter to the offered item).
Note: You must provide accurate details on condition, language, edition/publisher, and any other important pertinent data for every offered item (including sweeteners). (Most of this data can now be stored in your user collection data).

Tier 02:
Tier 02 items can only be listed as sweeteners added to a tier 01 offer.
Restrictions on what can be listed as Tier 02:
1A. Board Games: Any game (or game expansion) covered by (with a unique GAMEID in the database on) the Geek is allowed. 18xx train games are especially welcomed.
1B. Tanga/Pozy/B&N Clearance/TRU Clearance/Thrift store games: Are allowed (as long as they comply with requirement #1A above). But also see the restrictions on Duplicates listed below.
1C. Print and Play games: Are allowed (as long as they comply with requirement #1A above). However, any offer in this category must be for a game that is fully complete and of superior production quality. You MUST exhaustively detail the exact condition, components, and production process. Please use good judgement and make sure any P-n-P game you offer is one that you'd be delighted to receive.
2. CCGs: Any card game (or game expansion) covered by (with a unique GAMEID in the database on) the Geek is allowed. However, please try to consolidate your CCG offerings into large groups of cards. A USPS fixed-rate box will hold at least 2,000 cards.
Note: You must provide accurate details on condition, language, edition/publisher, and any other important pertinent data for every offered item (including sweeteners). (Most of this data can now be stored in your user collection data).

Tier 03:
Tier 03 items can only be listed as sweeteners added to a tier 01 offer. And must still comply with the 5-1 rule.
5-1 Rule: You may NOT list items from ANY of the categories listed below UNTIL you have posted at least 5 offers (taken 5 slots in the Trade GeekList) with Tier 01 offers. You may only list one (1) item from any of the categories listed below for each five (5) Tier 01 offer that you have previously listed. So, if you want to add three (3) sweeteners of GeekGold to 3 different offers, then you must have previously listed 15 Tier 01 games. Sweeteners do not count toward the 5 in the 5-1 ratio.
Other Items: In addition to the categories listed above, the following items may be offered with the restrictions listed. Note that in addition to the basic information, for items in each of the categories listed below you MUST also provide a detailed description of exactly what you are offering. In addition, for these items you MUST also insert a special tag at the end of your description that includes a not-more-than-32-characters-summary-description using the following format: "+altname+ your-not-more-than-32-characters-summary-description -altname-" (the altname tags will be used in the tool and summary).
3. Unpublished Prototype: Are allowed and especially welcomed. However, please do keep in mind that others may not place the same value on your prototype as you do. Please list all these entries as Unpublished Prototype (gameid = 18291).
4. Miniatures: are allowed. For any minis that do not fit specifically into category 1A above, please list all these entries as Miscellaneous Miniatures Game Accessory (gameid = 31693). You might want to consider grouping your miniatures into lots.
5. Miscellaneous Game Accessory: Game accessories are allowed. Please list all these entries as Miscellaneous Game Accessory (gameid = 5985).
6. Miscellaneous Game Book: Are allowed. Please list all these entries as Miscellaneous Game Book (gameid = 22427).
7. Miscellaneous Game Magazine: Are allowed. (i.e. AH Generals, Knucklebones, Counter, Dragon, White Dwarf, Game News, Space Gamer, Fantasy Gamer, S&T, WarGamer, Command, Inquest, Scrye...). Please list all these entries as Miscellaneous Game Magazine (gameid = 18785).

8. Cash, gift cards, & gift certificates: are allowed in this particular trade (either as offered items or as sweeteners). However, the only gift cards that will be allowed are those from Boulder Games, Game Surplus, GatePlay, Thought Hammer, or Time Well Spent (Sorry Amazon, Outback, Victoria's Secret, etc.--maybe next time). Gift certificates must be for a specified location and for a specified amount. All these entries must be listed as Outside the Scope of BGG (gameid = 23953) with a note of exactly how much you are offering. Please use the following format for the altname tag: "+altname+ Gift Card: $nn.nn from aaa -altname-" (where $nn.nn is the amount that you are offering and aaa is the merchant where the gift card can be used).
9. GeekGold: is allowed in this particular trade (either as offered items or as sweeteners). Users may not offer more geekgold than they currently have. All these entries must be listed as Miscellaneous Game Accessory (gameid = 5985) with a note of exactly how much you are offering. Please use the following format for the altname tag: "+altname+ Geek Gold: nnn -altname-" (where nnn is the amount that you are offering).

10A. Outside the Scope of BGG: Computer games, DVD's (especially TV seasons), comic books, graphic novels, RPG items, and paperbacks (especially SciFi) are allowed also. Please list all these entries as Outside the Scope of BGG (gameid = 23953).
10B. Outside the Scope of BGG: Any other non-BGG item not specifically listed above--You must contact the moderator first for permission to add anything else, and these items must be listed as Outside the Scope of BGG; only items with substantial geek value will be allowed, and I will limit the numbers to keep them from overwhelming the list.

Duplicates: You may not post more than ONE offer/lot with the same game. This includes sweeteners. So, you may offer a copy of Agricola with a sweetener of another copy of Agricola as one combined lot, but you may NOT offer a copy of Agricola and then post a second offer with another copy of Agricola. You may NOT offer a copy of Agricola and then post a second offer of Brass with a sweetener of Agricola. CCGs may bit a bit of an exception to this rule. Duplicate offers of the exact same item (even if CCG cards) are still prohibited but offers of different expansions of the same CCG will be considered as non-duplicates.
Duplicates from the same user are prohibited, but as long as the qualifications listed above are met, duplicates from different users are totally acceptable and encouraged.

Sweeteners (or multiple games in one entry): Are allowed and strongly encouraged (helps to mitigate shipping costs). The only way to offer tier 02 or tier 03 items is as sweeteners. If you are including any other items along with the main offered item, as sweeteners, make sure to include all the details in the description of the main offered item, but be sure to insert a Sweetener(s): tag or label in your description prior to the items being offered as sweeteners. Remember that the inclusion of a sweetener is not a separate offer. Instead, this would be added, along with the original item, to create a "lot" that you may offer as a potential trade. Even if you do not use the OLWLG, many other MT participants will --so be sure to list your sweetener items (after the Sweetener(s): tag) using either the [GAMEID=nnnnn] formatting (prefered -- so game 12750 looks like 1860: Railways on the Isle of Wight) or a link to the game's page (this will look like http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/12750). If you don't use this format your sweeteners won't show up in the OLWLG properly. OLWLG users--Read the full text of the offer--do NOT just scan the offer looking for items in various highlighted colors. Some users (especially those that do not re-type their offers from scratch with each and every MT but rather use the BGG user collection data) may include pointers to related games or other additional helpful information in their text. These pointers may appear to be sweeteners in the OLWLG (due to color coding) but obviously are not. There should not be any confusion to anybody that actually reads the full text of the offer, but folks that get in a hurry and just scan for colors may become confused and disoriented.

Change Management Process:
1. Do not delete offered items from the Trade Geeklist once you have posted them. Deleting posted offers causes the integrity of the numbering system to collapse.
It's totally cool if you don't want to trade an item once it's added--maybe you get an irresistible private offer, maybe your game is not in the condition you remembered, maybe your dog ate it. The reason does not matter. If you no longer wish to trade an entry as it was originally posted, simply edit the original text (but do NOT delete the entry from the GL), and change its description to "Item No Longer Available, I'll submit a blank want list" or text to that effect. You don't have to reveal the details, but you are welcome to insert an amusing story explaining why the item is no longer available if you wish. Even if you do not provide a story, it is a good idea to change the item id to something like (gameid=0) Null or (gameid=11901) Tic-Tac-Toe. Remember to submit a Blank Want List for this entry.
2. Also, do not substitute or split or change offered items and do not delete or substitute or split or change offered sweeteners. While this type of change does not destroy the numbering system, it does destroy the overall integrity of the MT. Back in the "old days" the total number of items offered was small enough that MT participants could easily review the list several times prior to final submission of Want Lists so changes (to main items or sweeteners) back then were not much of a problem. However, with the evolution of the MT tools, current MTs are often gigantic and with the deficiencies of the current GeekList format for trading, many (most?) participants only work through the offers on the Trade GeekList once (in real time as they are being added) and never see any changes that might be made. This obviously causes problems if changes of any kind are made. So, please do not make any changes that would delete, substitute, or split main items or any sweeteners from the Trade Geeklist once you have posted them. Even if you do not provide a story, it is a good idea to change the item id to something like (gameid=0) Null or (gameid=11901) Tic-Tac-Toe.[/i][/size] Remember to submit a Blank Want List for this entry. If you still want to trade a portion of the original offer or some variation of the original offer, simply re-post a new offer with the new details.
3. In the current MT environment, the only changes that are appropriate are providing clarifications (that do not materially change your original offer), switching the picture to one that better matches the text of your offer and adding sweeteners. All other changes should be handled with the process described above where you blank the original offer, submit a blank Want List for that orignal offer and possibly add a new offer.

Is this a bit kludgy and cumbersome? Yes, but it is the only way to minimize misunderstandings, miscommunications, and drama.

How:
Thanks to JeffyJeff, the OLWLG will be available for this event, but may not be populated til near the end of the offer submission period. Use is not required but is super highly recommended.

Max number of offers from a single individual: 42. No individual may submit more than 42 entries. Exceptions may be granted by the moderator.

Total max number of offers from everybody (i.e MT cap): Unlimited.

Request Geeklist: The Request GeekList is now closed to additional requests. In addition to the main Trade geeklist (to enter offered items), there is a secondary (totally optional) Request Geeklist where you can ask for things that you would like other people to offer. You do not have to enter anything on the Request geeklist to participate in this trade. Even if you request an item on the Request Geeklist, you are still not obligated to add that item to your Want List (but wny would you request it if you do not want it?). You may not post offers to the Trade GeekList for items that you have listed on the Request GeekList (but why whould you want to?).

Overall Offer Posting Guidelines: When you post an offer for an item (with or without sweeteners) don't make any changes (see Change Management Process). When you post an offer for an item (including any sweeteners) provide as much detail as possible (see below for format). However, once you have gone to the trouble and exhaustively described your offer, assume that everybody in the MT (except you) is totally illiterate and incapable of reading a word you just wrote and will rely completely on the pretty picture(s) you associated with your offer. So, choose the picture that best matches your offer.
And then when you start making your Want List reverse your assumptions and assume that everybody in the MT (except you) chose the wrong picture and that the text is the only part of the offer that you can rely on. If there is ever any discrepancy between the picture and the text, the text will be considered to be correct. So triple check to make sure that your text is accurate when you post an offer. If you are not sure about any of your offers, it is always in your best interest (and the best interest of everybody in the MT) to error on the side of caution and for you to blank the confusing offer and re-submit a new (corrected) offer.

Offered items: You must provide accurate details on condition, language, edition/publisher, and any other important pertinent data for every offered item (including sweeteners).
Comments: Any other important pertinent data for the offered item and/or any pithy comments (i.e. "OOP and hard-to-find title designed by Martin Wallace").
Condition: Text describing the condition of the box and components (i.e. "New. Still in shrinkwrap"). For games not brand new (in shrink) you must inventory the game's components and list anything missing. Do not assume it is complete even if you got it in a previous MT.
If you do not provide any details related to condition, you will be expected to deliver a brand-new-still-in-shrink copy of the item. For the purposes of this Math Trade the term "Average Condition" will mean that the item is used and may have been played a few times; that you have personally inventoried all of the components/bits and that the item is 100% complete; that the components may show minor wear/use and have no flaws that hinder play; that the box retains structural integrity and may show minor wear/shelfwear or maybe even a small ding; that the item is NOT in mint/collector's condition and neither does not look like it has been through a tornado, but rather is in... well... average condition.
Language: Most items will be "English"; however, since many games are published in multiple languages, it is important to specify the language of the copy that you are offering.
Edition/Publisher: Text describing exactly which edition you are offering (i.e. "AH 3rd edition published in 1999"). Do NOT just say "as pictured".
Shipping Details: State if you are not using the default shipping method or provide any other important shipping details (i.e. will upgrade to ship via USPS Priority for free).
(Technically Comments and Shipping Details are optional while Condition, Language, and Edition/Publisher are mandatory for each item).

If you decide to include one or more sweeteners with the main item offered, you MUST use a Sweetener(s) tag or label and you must provide accurate details on condition, language, edition/publisher, and any other important pertinent data for every offered sweetener item.
"Sweetener(s):"
For each sweetener, include the following data:
[ImageID=nnnnn]
[GameID=nnnn]
(Technically Comments are optional while Condition, Language, and Edition/Publisher are mandatory for each item).

Official Offer Summary List: When the offer submission period closes, the moderator will produce an Official Summary of Offers List. If you are not using the OLWLG, you MUST use this official list to compile your Want List and do NOT submit your Want List prior to the publication of the Official Summary of Offers List. Please see the Complete Rules, Official Announcements, Data Lists, and Newbie Questions Discussion Thread for details.

Want List creation process: When the Official Summary of Offers List has been published, you may then build your Want Lists. It is super highly recommended that you use the OLWLG to build your Want List. (You may want to make sure you can login to that tool (no password required) if you haven't already). See http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/159648 for instructions on how to use the OLWLG. Although TradeMaximizer does not care how many items are on each of your Want Lists, the GeekMail system will not handle a WantList if it is longer than about 900 characters (or about 75 items). So, if you are NOT using the OLWLG to create and directly submit your Want Lists, then you MUST limit the Want List for each of your offered items to 75 or less items per your offered item. Please see the Complete Rules, Official Announcements, Data Lists, and Newbie Questions Discussion Thread for more information. If you choose to create your Want Lists manually, know that you will be publicly ridiculed for not using the tool if you make a mistake (not by me but by your peers). Also, although it is not intuitively obvious, if you are using the OLWLG you can start putting together your want list(s) immediately, even before you enter your own items into the math trade!!! There will not be any restrictions on what you can add to your Want List for any of your offers.

Want List submission process: It is super highly recommended that you use the OLWLG to build and submit your Want Lists. If you are using the OLWLG to submit your Want Lists, then you may add as many items to each of your Want Lists as you like and then press the Submit button. However, if you are submitting your Want Lists manually then you MUST limit the Want List for each of your offered items to 75 or less items per your offered item. If you are submitting your Want Lists manually then your Want Lists should be sent to the moderator in a single email, and use a subject line of [yourBGGuserName] ":" [name of this particular MT] "WANT LIST" (without the brackets or quotes). If you have multiple items up for trade, you must submit one want list for each item, but you should combine them into a single email. If you submit your Want List via the OLWLG, do not also submit it manually. Please see the Complete Rules, Official Announcements, Data Lists, and Newbie Questions Discussion Thread for more information.

What to do when the results are announced: When the results are announced, everyone should ensure that all their offered items are listed as available for trade in the BGG DB. Item winners (receivers) should contact the current owners (senders) and send a BGG trade offer, but owners may feel free to contact the winners if they want. You should also review the guidelines outlined here: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/156295.
Note that there will NOT be a re-run/mulligan/do-over once results are published unless there is a transcription error introduced by the moderator. Only errors by the moderator will invalidate any portion of the results. This particular MT is NOT designed to allow participants be able to review the results and decide that they do not like them and request to be able to re-submit updated Want Lists or to ignore the published results and/or drop out of the MT. Note: In the unlikely event that there is a problem after the results are posted, at most it will only invalidate the affected trade chain(s) and not the entire results set. In addition if the problem can be resolved by the most directly affected party or parties, then that is perfectly acceptable.

Shipping: 100% of shipping costs (except for optional insurance) will be paid by the sender (the person that posts an offer). By entering items in this MT you are agreeing to these shipping terms. There will be no "I will pay the first $nn". There will be no "The receiver must pay $nn". There is no ambiguity. The sender pays the shipping costs. So, obviously you should take this into account when you build your Want Lists--if you offer StarCraft, then only put items on your Want List that are worth the value of StarCraft plus the cost to ship StarCraft. If this shipping policy is not acceptable to you, please do not enter items into this particular MT. If you normally charge receivers for shipping when you participate in other MT's, you are still welcome here, but will need to adjust what you put on your Want Lists as you are prohibited from charging users for shipping (other than insurance if the receiver requests it) in this MT
The default shipping method will be the least-cost method (typically USPS Parcel Post) without insurance. The sender may not charge the receiver for insurance unless the receiver requests insurance. The sender is free to choose a more expensive and faster shipping method (but may not require the receiver to pay extra) and if using an upgraded shipping method may want to include a comment in the listing explaining what shipping method will be used. (After the results are published (and confirmed), receivers may volunteer to pay extra and request faster shipping or work out other arrangements suitable to both parties).
The receiver may request to pay for insurance (totally up to the receiver) but if the receiver does not make such a request, then the receiver agrees to assume responsibility for lost or damaged packages (however, the sender must be able to produce documentation that the package was shipped (typcially USPS Delivery Confirmation or FedEx/UPS tracking number)).

Who:
This Math Trade is open to (almost) everybody in the world that can receive shipments to a US address and that will commit to check your email/geekmail and the BGG site at least daily once you offer at least one item for trade. You MUST use a US shipping address to participate in this MT.
In addition, to enter this MT you must be able to read at the 6th grade level or above and you must agree to read the full text of offers posted and not just look at the pretty picture(s) associated with the offers or the colorful tags inside the OLWLG.
Note that there will NOT be a re-run/mulligan/do-over once results are published unless there is a transcription error introduced by the moderator. Only errors by the moderator will invalidate any portion of the results. This particular MT is NOT designed to allow participants be able to review the results and decide that they do not like them and request to be able to re-submit updated Want Lists or to ignore the published results and drop out of the MT. If this level of personal accountability is not acceptable to you, please do not enter this particular MT, but rather wait for the next one that may not require as much personal accountability. By entering items in this MT, you are agreeing to honor your commitments regardless of whether or not you feel you made an error to your detriment.

Any user added to http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/17839 is also banned from participating in this particular MT.

Other Important Notes That Did Not Fit Above:
The moderator reserves the right to remove items from the list for any reason.

By posting an item in this MT, you agree to abide both by the general math trade guidelines and by those specific to this particular math trade.

If you have any general questions please do NOT click the Comment link in the Trade GeekList header, but rather ask in one of the Discussion threads. However, for questions on individual items, please feel free to add comments to individual geeklist items (but again do not add general comments to the geeklist itself).

At the end of the day, all these MT's are based on trust. We trust each other in the BGG community to accurately describe our offered items. Obviously, everybody would enjoy getting a trade up or getting a good deal, but we trust each other to act with integrity througout the entire process. We trust each other to ship our items. We trust each other to do the right thing in situations where the rules are ambiguous. Please do not violate this trust.

Re: MinCrapMaxAccountability Pre-Thanksgiving 2008 Chain Trade Rules: Bounty
Frequently tips are given to the people that moderate Math Trades. And if I end up with anything deposited into my tip jar, I thought that it might be fun to do something with the tips that might make this MT even better. So, I am going to take the total amount of tips given on the Trade GeekList and divide it by three (rounding to integers).

1. After the MT is over, I am going to give 1/3 of the total to the MT participant whose entry actually traded AND ended up being on at least one want list of the most number of other users. (So you might want to add some sweeteners to your offers to increase the demand)!! Note that this bounty will only be awarded if the stats are available from JeffyJeff's tool.

2. After the MT is over, I am going to give 1/3 of the total to the MT participant that proved the most helpful during the MT. Obviously, this is totally subjective and will be at the sole discretion of the moderator. But I will be looking at folks who provided clear concise answers to procedural questions, generally provided useful guidance (especially to folks that may be kinda new at this whole MT thingy), helped to identify entries that were not qualified in a polite way, helped others understand any other rules infractions, posted comments to the Request List that cross-referenced items offered on the Trade List, were a positive force in this MT, and were just generally... well... helpful. (While this MT would not even be possible at all without tools from userid=JeffyJeff and userid=cokasaki, I am discounting their contribution from their tools as I am expecting that everybody will tip them anyway).

I was actually thinking of an additional category but just am not sure it would be easy enough to calculate and don't want to make a promise that is too hard to fulfill. Was thinking of offering gg to the user that had the highest percentage of entries that actually traded, but this one would only be open to users that offered at least 8 entries (partially because there could easily be a 40-way tie for people that only had one item and partially to encourage folks to enter more items which then increases the percentage chance that there would be more multi-game trades which helps to mitigate shipping cost).

Obviously, nobody is going to be buying an island with their bounty, but I will guess that nobody will turn down free GG.

Re: MinCrapMaxAccountability Pre-Thanksgiving 2008 Chain Trade Rules: Summary of Offers List
Reserved for Official Summary of Offers List (including official itemID that should be used in Want Lists).

Note: If you are using the OLWLG to create and submit your Want Lists, you can skip reading this post. However, if you are manually creating or manually submitting your Want Lists, you will need to know the information in this post.

Please do NOT submit your Want List prior to the publication of the Official Summary of Offers List.
When the offer submission period closes, the moderator will produce an Official Summary of Offers List. This list will include a unique identifier (or label) and optional descriptive information for every offer on the Trade GeekList. Even offers that have been withdrawn will still have a unique identifier assigned to them (but obviously nobody should put these withdrawn offers on their Want List).
The unique identifier will consist of
a) a 4-digit number (matching the Trade GeekList number)
b) plus a "-"
c) plus additional alpha-numeric charcaters (typically 5 additional characters to create a unique 10-character identifier).
The characters at the end are an attempt to help MT users make sure that they have the right item(s) on their Want List and may include extra dashes (if a game title is too short) (and these dashes would be part of the label). Some of these additional alpha-numeric character codes are more helpful than others. However, do not worry if the characters at the end do not seem to match the game title or do not seem to make sense to you. Also, do not worry if the same characters are used for different game titles becuase the first 4 digits in the label will ensure that the identifier is unique. And do not worry if different characters are used for the same game title in different offers. As long as the identifier is unique, everything will work out. However, it is important to use the official identifier (and only this identifier) on your Want Lists.
The Official Summary of Offers List may also include some optional descriptive data for each offer (i.e. name of user making the offer, etc.); however, this additional data is provided as a convenience only. The extra data should not be used in Want Lists. Nor should it be counted on as a factual representation of the offer.
For example,

Identifier |------------------------------------- Descriptive Data -----------------------------------|
0001-Outpo ==> "Outpost" (from RoamDog) (Sweeteners=Yes) (Shipping from US) (Shipping Terms=Limited)
...
0051-Xfile ==> "X-Files" (from jeffwiles) (Sweeteners=No) (Shipping from US) (Shipping Terms=UnLimited)
...
0177-DuneX ==> "Dune" (from sirebelle) (Sweeteners=No) (Shipping from CA) (Shipping Terms=Limited)
...
0336-Antiq ==> "Antiquity" (from WoofWarpWeft) (Sweeteners=Yes) (Shipping from US) (Shipping Terms=L...
...
0484-Wtdrw ==> "This item was withdrawn by the submitter" (from Mr_Bickman)
...
0804-Blank ==> "This item is not a qualified entry" (from Abner1)
...
0820-18FLR ==> "18FL" (from tacman88) (Sweeteners=Yes) (Shipping from CA) (Shipping Terms=Limited)
...
0881-PoRen ==> "Princes of the Renaissance" (from utoption2) (Sweeteners=No) (Shipping from US) (Shi...

After the Official Summary of Offers List is published there will be a short period when all users can validate that there were no mistakes in the list. Technically, the only real possible problems are:
Duplicate - if the first 4 digits of the unique label are somehow duplicated on more than one offer
Missing - if there is no label that includes a 4-digit number that matches the number of a valid entry on the Trade GeekList

After the list is validated, everybody that is not using the OLWLG uses this Official Summary of Offers List to produce their Want Lists.
It is absolutely MANDATORY to use the full unique (typically 10-character) identifier (and only this identifier) for each item that you would like to put on your Want List.

Again, remember that while the official identifier to be used on Want Lists comes from the Official Offer Summary List, the official source of the actual exact details of each offer is the offer entry on the Trade GeekList. Any descriptive information in the Offer Summary List should not be relied on. It is there merely as a convenience. Check the source.

Re: MinCrapMaxAccountability Pre-Thanksgiving 2008 Chain Trade Rules: Want List format and Submission Process
Note: If you are using the OLWLG to create and submit your Want Lists, you can skip reading this post unless you need to know how to validate the data created in the OLWLG. However, if you are manually creating or manually submitting your Want Lists, you will need to know the information in this post.

Want List creation process: When the Official Summary of Offers List has been published, you may then build your Want Lists. It is super highly recommended that you use the OLWLG tool (see http://activityclub.org/bgg/mathtrade.cgi) to build your Want List because it is easier and will handle all the formatting for you. (You may want to make sure you can login to that tool (no password required) if you haven't already done so). If you choose to create your Want Lists manually, know that you will be publicly ridiculed for not using the tool if you make a mistake (not by me but by your peers).

If you choose to ignore the advice and want to build your Want List manually...
It is absolutely MANDATORY to use the full unique (typically 10-character) identifier from the Official Offer Summary List for each item that you would like to put on your Want List. Please do NOT make up your own labels.
The full format for each Want List is

(username) YourOfferedItemID : ItemMostWantedID Item2ndMostWantedID ... ItemLastMostWantedID

Note: Each want list begins with your username in ( ) followed by a space followed by the Official Summary unique (typically 10-character) identifier (or label) for the item that you are offering followed by a colon followed by the Official Summary unique (typically 10-character) identifier (or Label) for every item that you are willing to accept in excahnge for your item. The username and colon are required. There are no commas between entries.

If you want to submit a blank Want List, please still use the correct syntax.
For example, if the user offering "Battelore" (and a huge pile of other games), did not find anything on the list that would be an acceptable trade, then the Want List would look like this:

(RoamDog) 0906-BatLo :

For an exhaustive list of all the syntax and options available for use in various other Math Trades see TradeMaximizer (link to wiki). However, you probably only need to know two (2) additional things about formatting for this particular Math Trade:

1. By adding ; between wanted items you are telling TradeMaximizer that whatever is after after the ; is much less desirable, but may still be an option. Any number of ; may be added anywhere in your list (except at the start of the list) to indicate multiple groups of priority or large differences between how much you want the items in question. You do not need to add a ; at all if you don't want to. If this does not make sense, please re-read http://www.boardgamegeek.com/wiki/page/TradeMaximizer#toc4.
For example, if the user that offered "Outpost" wanted "Princes of the Renaissance" most in exchange but would also be happy with "18FL" or "Antiquity" and would even settle for "Dune", then the Want List would look like this:

(RoamDog) 0001-Outpo : 0881-PoRen 0820-18FLR 0336-Antiq ; 0177-DuneX

2. Duplicate protection will be used: Please read http://www.boardgamegeek.com/wiki/page/TradeMaximizer#toc5 for exhaustive details on how duplicate protection works. One helpful tip to those using duplicate protection--If you choose a dummyname that is 9 characters long (plus the mandatory % sign) then your Want List columns will still line up since the "normal" labels are 10 characters long.
For example, if the user that offered "Caylus" and "Credo" would like to get a copy of "Vegas Showdown" and "San Juan" but really only wants one copy of each, then the Want List would look like this:

(RoamDog) %SanJuanSJ : 0143-Sjuan 0230-Sjuan 0402-Sjuan 0924-Sjuan
(RoamDog) %VegasShow : 0047-Vegas 0057-Vegas 0059-Vegas 0108-Vegas 0109-Vegas 0110-Vegas 0111-Vegas 0130-Vegas 0192-Vegas 0379-Vegas 0414-Vegas 0449-Vegas 0608-Vegas 0612-Vegas
(RoamDog) 0936-Caylu : %VegasShow %SanJuanSJ
(RaomDog) 0019-Credo : %VegasShow %SanJuanSJ

Want List submission process: It is super highly recommended that you use the OLWLG to build and submit your Want Lists. If you are using the OLWLG to submit your Want Lists, then you may add as many items to each of your Want Lists as you like and then press the Submit button. However, if you are submitting your Want Lists manually then you MUST limit the Want List for each of your offered items to 75 or less items per your offered item. If you are submitting your Want Lists manually then your Want Lists should be sent to the moderator in a single GeekMail, and use a subject line of [yourBGGuserName] ":" [name of this particular MT] "WANT LIST" (without the brackets or quotes). If you have multiple items up for trade, you must submit one want list for each item, but you should combine them into a single Geekmail.

One final note on Want Lists. Prior to submitting your Want List, please please please double-check everything even if you used the OLWLG tool. You are responsible for whatever you submit no matter how it was generated. After the Official Summary of Want Lists is published, you will not be able to change your mind and you will not be able to correct typos. There will be a small period of time to validate the Official Summary of Want Lists, but the only errors corrected during this time frame are errors introduced by the moderator (and potentially syntax errors that prevent the TradeMaximizer from running). You simply MUST ensure, prior to submission that your Want Lists conform to the approved format and reflect the truth of what you're willing to get for what you're giving. I know that this sounds harsh, but this point is important and we may have some folks that are new to Math Trades and I don't want you to accidentally accept that partially complete battered and used copy of Monopoly Junior for your brand-new-never-been-played CATAN 3D Collector's Edition. Mistakes have happened before, and folks can get cranky if they make a typo.

If you need to send in an updated version of your Want List file prior to the deadline, that is fine. However, please put CORRECTED at the beginning of your subject line if you do so. Thanks.
If you originally submitted your Want Lists via the OLWLG tool, then you CANNOT switch to a manual submission if you need to send an update (in this case just send your update via the OLWLG tool).

Re: MinCrapMaxAccountability Pre-Thanksgiving 2008 Chain Trade Rules: Official Summary of Wants List
Reserved for Official Summary of Wants List.

Please do not publish an unofficial result. I realize that many of you have the software loaded and are capable of producing an unofficial result. Please do not do this as it will just cause confusion. If there are no Want List errors surfaced by the deadline, the Official Results will be published according to the timetable listed above at the start of the thread.

The location of the Official Summary of Wants List is listed below.

Please review this list. If the Want List you submitted to the moderator does not match what is shown in the official summary (i.e. the moderator made a transcription error), please let the moderator know.

If you submitted a syntactically correct Want List and it is not listed at all (i.e. the moderator deleted it), please let the moderator know.

If the Want List you submitted to the moderator does indeed match what is shown in the official summary but it is not what you actually meant to send or not what you now want, there is no need to let the moderator know as no correction of this type can be made at this point.

Note: Only errors by the moderator will invalidate the results. You are also responsible for checking the full set of want lists when they are posted as soon as possible (and definitely before the results are posted) for any "obvious" errors.

Note: In the case that there is a problem after the results are posted, at most it will only invalidate the affected trade chain(s) and not the entire results set. In addition if the problem can be resolved by the most directly affected party or parties, then that is perfectly acceptable.

These results are not Official and Final yet. There is still a possibility that I goofed somehow, but I think that the probability is small. So I am posting prelim results. Do NOT send trade offers yet. I will declare them official in accordance with the original deadlines, but I know everybody is dying to see.

Seems like a very self-serving MT.

Because I don't like 18XX games, nor have many GMT titles, I have to race to get any and all of my entries in during the first 12 hours of the MT opening? While I'm at work? Researching which games "qualify" and which don't?

While I like the intent, I just think it'll create a mad dash at the start to submit Tanga/Pozy/thrift stuff and will be too much of a hassle in the end.

No thanks. Even more work than normal for too little a reward.

Two Questions:

1. Why give Boards & Bits the short end of the stick? For an owner who's active here at BGG they should bew included.

2. Shipping rules. You say no "I'll cover $X amount of shipping". Can you restrict where you'll ship or do you have to agree to cover the whole cost of shipping worldwide?

*Never mind, I missed the US only part of the rules*

A good question. I like Tom and have the utmost respect for B&B. However, I am trying to show support for the stores that have shown support for an annual auction I host to raise funds for a food pantry that serves the needy.
I have nothing at all against B&B but believe that those that help others in need deserve to be rewarded and am trying to do my part to show my appreciation for the generosity of those other stores.

See post above for response on B&B (again B&B is a great store).

I guess I need to change the wording a bit.
First line of the Rules is, "This will be a US-only MT. (Technically it will be open to anybody in the world that can receive shipments to a US address (I do know that there are some folks that live outside the US but travel to the US for work and/or can use a US address to receive packages))."
First line of the Who section is, "This Math Trade is open to (almost) everybody in the world that can receive shipments to a US address and that will commit to check your email/geekmail and the BGG site at least daily..."

I will add some additional text in the who section that more clearly spells out that all shipments must be to US addresses.

woowee...seems like 7.5 is kinda high, in my opinion. I've got three things I'm gonna put up, and two are above the 'tier 1' threshold, but alot of stuff I'm interested in floats around the 6.9/7.0 line. ah well, just hope they get in early.

So the top 45 games are in tier 1 plus the 18xx games (because the organizer wants them I suppose), and nothing else?

The rating on the games page is the user rating. Average rating is usually a slightly higher number, so you can still find 7.5 averages down to around rank 100.

I like the idea of this MT. It'd be even better if it were restricted entirely to tier 1 though.

For the 5:1 ratio rule, do only separate game offers count, or does every game in a bundle count. For example, one of my entries is for Age of Napoleon sweetened by Master and Commander. Does that count as one or two games for the ratio?

Thanks for running the trade!

A great question. The 5-1 ratio rule is by slot taken in the GL. In your example above, the main item that has an associated sweetener takes up one slot in the GeekList so it counts as one (1) toward the five (5) not as two. This is partly because it will be impossible for me to keep up with how many sweeteners are included in various offers.

Oops - I missed the "previously listed" part of the 5:1 ratio rule; I have a DVD listed as a sweetener for the third (if I remember correctly) of my 5 offers, which are somewhat scattered in the list because I did some this morning and some last night. Should I clear out the entries as outlined in the "Change Management Process" and put them back up in the proper order, or is it okay? Apologies for my inability to read!

Just leave it. The most important thing is to comply with the 5-1 part of the rule. It just makes it less difficult for me to moderate if everybody will post the 5 before the one.
If you add more items, please do list the 5 games prior to listing the non-game.
