There are soooo many microbadges out there on the geek, but you've just 5 slots available to publish them. So I'd like to hear your opinions on buying tons of microbadges: what do you do this for?

Less expensive than collecting classic science fiction magazines.

Because my Self Esteem is directly related to the number of microbadges I own. cry

Because I have no friends but my Microbadges keep me company at night. snore

Because when my wife divorces me, my badges will remind me of the games I used to own. soblue

Because it means I have to retract from the real world for an extra 30 minutes each month as I change the bloody things over so I feel like I'm getting full use out of them. shake

But really they are just a way to state the things that I'm into and therefore let interested persons (whomever they should be) learn more about me.

One way that microbadges can be useful is in identifying other BGGers based on interest. So, if you want to contact people who share a love of your favorite game, you can click on your Antiquity badge and get a list of everyone who likes it enough to spend 15gg.

And this works as long as someone has purchased the Antiquity badge, even if it isn't shown underneath their avatar.

What is the point of not having zillions of microbadges? The point of geek gold is to spend it...

Why do you own 206 games? You can only play one of them at a time.

You only really need 5 microbadges - but WHICH five may change as you learn new games, new hobbies etc.

If you click a microbadge, you get a list of everyone else with that badge.

Its a way to find people with similar interests.

The point is so that if someone visits your profile they can see a more complete picture of who you are on the front page.

Honestly, not many people will click on a sub-page to view your interests and so the microbadges function to show your interests in your profile.

And if anyone doesn't want microbadges for themselves then would you please give me enough GG to buy myself another microbadge?? =)
