After reading multiple, slightly different rule variants,
we've settled on these two rules regarding the 5 point (outer) line for scoring and game play.

I am very interested in hearing how others treat these two situations.

A. The disk is past the 5-point line, but still on the board.
We remove that disk to the ditch before the next player shoots.

B. The disk is touching the 5-point line.
This disk remains on the board, but scores zero (0) points.

How do you treat these two situations?
Thanks!

A and B are both ditched. If a piece comes to rest touching the outer line (or outside it), it is immediately removed to ditch before the next shot.

I have always played that if a disc is touching the outerline (5 point line) it is considered out of play and is removed before that next person shots. This is also the case for discs that go over the line and then back on playing field.

What Mark said - both are removed. If a piece is touching the 5 point line it gets swept off the board and removed before the next shot is taken.

Thank you all. We thought it was rather "cool" that a zero point disk needed to remain on the board, but your overwhelming consensus will change how we play.

Thanks!

We always thought that would be cool too, but it would affect a shot coming from someone in that quadrant. Since the shooting line is also that line. So We've always ditched them all...
