It's fun, it's healthy, it's good exercise. The kids will just love it. And we put a little sand inside to make the experience more pleasant.

You know, they say there was a man who jumped from the forty-FIFTH floor? But that's another story...

Maybe Aldie integrated GoogleMaps with Avatars?

The idea of 'geocaching' with BGG member locations I am not a fan of. That may not be what this is...but it does kinda appear that way? (I mean, seriously, I'm a wargamer, here, people - we have a long, proud tradition of being hermits! This is not easy to maintain, why make it easier for people to find us?! Bah, humbug! Humbug, I say!)

Public health reasons?

If this can help new geeks locate me, that sure would be cool.

Even if it IS geocaching, count me in. It sounds like fun, plus it'll probably raise some much-needed capital for Aldie.

But... cry ...I can only afford to take a trip and/or vacation about once every 5 years: cry and I just took one last month! cry
It'll just sit here, taunting me: "Ya know ya wanna go places with me, doncha?"

Not once you have splashed the initial 75 quid for a GPS, after that, it's cheap as chips.

I thought I'd get a peek at the new currency Aldie and Obama talked about, you know the one that is to replace that poor old devaluated US-Dollar.

If it is geocaching or something like (and from the image it certainly looks as if it is), then count me in.

It could also be something like the BGG Gnome which, to be honest, was not much different from a Geocoin though using BGG Geeks instead of Geocaches then, again, count me in.

For those of us not able to travel round the world to meet the many Geeks we interact with on BGG on a daily basis, something like a geocoin or the Gnome is a great physical link between us all.

If you like the idea of geocaching, but can't afford it, try letterboxing. Cheaper, still fun.

And if you don't want to find the caches yourself, you can buy a Geocoin or Travel bug for a couple of quid (or sometimes even get them for free), leave it in a cache and then watch it travel round the globe.

Friendly reminder - there was a bomb squad disposing of a geocache or letterboxing stash in Ottawa this summer. Someone had the bright idea to hide their cache in an ammo box close to a busy bus stop interchange.

In today's political climate, suspect packages are just that. I find it a bit much, but understandable all the same. So, forewarned is forearmed, etc. I don't want to discourage anyone from this type of thing, I'd just like you to be careful and not cause yourself harm (or panic).
