On my way in to work it sounded like I was getting three radio stations all on the same frequency and it was like that one multiple frequencies. When I fiddled with it a bit I picked up a station identification from Yakima, Washington--400 miles away.

There's a little black dot on the sun today.

No kidding! I usually listen to the Mike & Mike show on the way to work, but I have to pick it up from a station in Chicago (now that the stupid local station stopped airing it.) But this morning at the same time as I was listening to Mike Golic speak, I was also listening to The Chipmunk Christmas Song, a commercial for car tires, and something that sounded like Yiddish played backwards.

I switched over to a CD as soon as I heard Alvin declare his desire for a decent quarterback that would neyerdmura his tires for free.

Sunspot activity has been at quite a low point for some time and has been quite a concern:

Radio "skip" is supposed to be best at peak times when the ionosphere becomes like a mirror for radio frequencies, so this does not explain your experience.

It must be our overuse of solar paneling; the sun just can't keep up...

Ok, no; but I'm just waiting for the time when someone starts trying to get people to believe that

I saw a black hat caught in a high tree top.

Holy cow!

Quote:
Recently 100 scientists from Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and North America gathered to discuss the issue at an international solar conference at Montana State University.

That's right, the state of Montana is at the front of solar science! That's because the Vulcans land here!

Part of me wonders at the POINT of the gathering. It's not like they're gonna be able to DO anything about it.

Let's say the conclusion is "the sun is dead". Ok, now what?

Did you read the article? There's an ice age coming. And those idiot Global Warming nuts don't realize that we're all trying to SAVE the world by increasing green house effects! So go out and run you cars and lawnmowers ALL DAY. Increase your carbon footprint like never before! We've got to get crackin' people before the glaciers come!
