A question in case anyone has had experience in selling on the Marketplace. I have a number of extra fleets for GW's Man O' War-- essentially sets of things for most of the races. When everyone got out of playing it a number of years ago, I picked up everyone's extras. I'd like to clear some out and I'm wondering if it'd be a better idea to organize sell sets by the original package numbers (which were like three ships to a box depending on the race) or put together larger groups by race. If anyone's had experience selling these kinds of things, I'd appreciate input.

I'd say sell them by race fleet. That SEEMS to be how they sell best on eBay, though I'm sure they could be just as profitable the other way.

I think you should combine any individual ships into the appropriate squadrons.

Ships were typically sold singularly as Man O Wars, in groups (squadrons) of 3 for all the Ship of the Line (SOL). Independents operate singularly but were also sold in groups of 3.

Most people looking for ships are looking for either a single Man O War or a squadron - very rarely will they be looking for a single Ship of the Line.

The thing to do would be to compile a list of what you have and post it. Then we can tell you what should be grouped together.

Thank you for the suggestion-- I'll sit down tomorrow and organize what I have and make a list to post.

(later) Well that was painful-- they'd been packed and moved but others resulting in a good deal of damage and loss. Can't find my nicely painted Sea Monsters, any of the flyers (no great loss there), the Brettonians, and most of the High Elves or Imperial.

Here's what I have (I've got the condition notes there for my own reference and in case I post on the valuation forum). Most are either painted badly (to the point of cringing), or simply primed. A couple of the Skaven are unprimed. I wonder if anyone has had experience shipping there-- I kind of shudder at the thought. I suspecting I might be better off trading than selling these. This is what I can determine from a quick sort and eyeball. In any case (apologies for the long list)...

Dark Elf
1 Black Ark (masts and sails intact, some sail damage)
10 Doomreaver
6 Death Fortress

Elf
1 Dragon Ship (mast, no crossbeam, no sail, no pennant)
