So, it's a day after the awards were supposed to have been announced and I've been diligently refreshing the main page of BGG every thirty seconds or so...

Who won what?

Need you 'ask'? Only the "dullardest" dim-wit-bulb MIGHT not have "guessed" correctly on some!

I'm certainly not dull or dim, but I do like to hear the results of a vote, even if people feel like the outcome in some categories or other were to be expected.

Melissa: Thanks for the info! I was pulling for Pandemic in Family and 1960 in 2P, since I worked on both of them... sad to see that neither of them (unofficially as you note, but I doubt that you are incorrect) captured their categories. Ah well. I'll have to work harder on next year's crop!

North Star Games designs party games that don't suck! Play them with your non-gamer friends over the holidays.

First there was Hearts, then there was Spades, and now we bring you Clubs. The suit of clubs finally gets some respect!

Yeah!!!!

Yes, Agricola was expected, but the most important of the awards (PGotY) was anybody's guess...

Congratulations Dom!!

We played Say Anything! just recently with a new group of people and it was a huge hit. I think the great strength of that game is how adaptable it is to many different situations.

Also, today my Target newspaper flyer had Wits and Wagers in it!! That was cool to see!

In a surprise move, since BGGers were unwilling to make the Sophie's Choice between Agricola and Race for the Galaxy, the winner was a new game, Race for the Farm.

Anybody's Guess wasn't released in 2008, so it's not eligible...
