Okay people, let's get organized! Thanksgiving is in three days and we need folks to bring the following:

We need 88 people to bring bacon,
12 people to bring spam,
37 people to bring cheese,
2 people to bring jello,
5 people to bring "kick in the crotch" chips,
10 people to bring chorizo-in-a-diaper,
and 1 person to bring green bean casserole.

Sign up by posting to this thread and tell us what you'll be bringing.

That's a lot of green bean casserole for one person to bring. Should they rent a dumptruck?

I've got the Jello covered. Is there anyone who doesn't like fruit cocktail and marshmallows suspended in it's wobbly goodness?

I'd bring the green bean casserole, but Thanksgiving, was like, a month ago. I don't know why us Canadians observe Thanksgiving in October, but we do. Let me look behind the bed, maybe I've still got some.

I saw the Barenaked Ladies in concert a couple of years back on the evening before Thanksgiving. It was great. They sang a beautiful rendition of Feliz Thanksgiving just for the occasion. Ed explained that they already had Thanksgiving because Canadians are a whole month more thankful than Americans, then went on discussing the permafrost...

Why would you have some Canadians behind your bed? Are they collectible now?

We don't do the Thanksgiving thing here, but if Diane's bringin' her chili I'll make an exception. If I can find any, I'll bring some of that special Aussie cheese in a can that we only make to export. And some Tim Tams.

Okay then, I'd better plan on bringing turkey chili, and substitute cranberries for the cherries that usually go into my regular chili!

I've got your jello right here.

2 c. crushed pretzels
3/4 c. melted butter
8 oz. cream cheese
1 c. sugar
8 oz. Cool Whip
6 oz. pkg. strawberry Jello
2 c. boiling water
2 (10 oz.) pkgs. frozen strawberries

Mix pretzels and butter together and pat into 9x12 pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 6 minutes. Cool.
Cream together the cheese and sugar. Fold in Cool Whip. Spread on pretzel mixture.

Dissolve Jello in boiling water. When Jello is slightly thickened, stir in strawberries. Pour over cheese layer and refrigerate. Serves 12.

OK.. I'll try it. Will it matter if the pretzels are just barely on the good side of dodgey? A more sophisticated palate might call them stale..
