Bucephalus Games is happy to report that the initial response to Rorschach: The Inkblot Party Game has been above and beyond even our optimistic expectations. Early orders and demand at the retail level will exhaust existing supply, so we are in the happy circumstance of being able to develop the first expansion set, with all-new inkblots and questions. We have quite a few questions for retailers and board game geeks, as we plan this expansion.

A recap on the game-play of Rorschach, from the game box:

"Get in touch with your subconscious and those of your friends by asking questions of the strange and suggestive shapes used in these custom 'inkblot' tests.

Each round has a collection of inkblots, from which you select one based on a question (such as "Which looks most likely to eat you?" or "Which one would you most want to date?"). How well do you know your friends? Can you predict what they see in the cards? Show that you know your friends best by matching answers with each player at least once to win."

We are interested in getting customer and retailer feedback on the format and theme for this first expansion. The current plan for this expansion to be a fully playable, stand-alone game, to be played on its own or mixed with the existing set.

Questions for you:

Should this be a 3-8 player game, or should it expand the overall player base to 12? To 16?

Should there be a theme, and if so, what? (sci-fi, gamer, fantasy, B-movie, or should it just be “Revenge of the Inkblot,” with no theme)

Would you prefer smaller “expansion only” sets, such as themed inkblot decks or question decks, to be added to the existing game, or would you like stand-alone expansions?

We also welcome suggestions for new questions. Please e-mail ideas and suggestions to, or geekmail me.

Rorschach is at all major distributors now, and there is enough product to fill all existing orders. We should have enough stock for the next round of orders from retailers for the holidays, but it will be tight. If you don't have your copy of the game, grab one quick. We will reprint the game, as well as make expansions, but do not yet have a timeline for how long that will take.
