TEG (Tuesday Evening Games) session on November 25th.

The second game we played was the classic, Fast Food Franchise. Chris played it once before and Kevin had not played it at all. It started out with Timm going with Burger Brothers in Boston and immediately right after, Kevin's Chicken started to take control of the east coast and was choking the burgers out. Burger Brothers decided to open up shop in the Northwest (Seattle/Portland) as well. Chris waited a bit to establish his pizza chain in San Diego and I managed to open up my decadent chocholate shop in the SF area.

Everyone was running on shoestring budgets and Burger Bros. was just about to the point of closing up his east coast operations when his northwest operations started picking up the pace, giving him a solid influx of money.

It was back and forth for awhile, Chocolate was doing well in the Bay area, Burger Brothers was expanding, Pizza was king in the southwest and Chicken was surviving along the eastern seaboard.

But, Chicken was the first to go down as expansion was expensive for him along the eastern seaboard and wasn't drawing in the customers like he was hoping. Burger Brothers got their revenge of blocking him out of the east. This just fed fuel into the Burger Brothers monster.

Not long after that, Burger Brothers took another financial hit by having to deal with a rapidly growing Chocolate and after dealing with a strike, was again, riding the margins. Then Chocolate hit Burgers, three turns in a row and by the third turn, Chocolate couldn't recover and fell vicim to Burger's mass exposure.

Pizza had been growing at a decent speed, not too fast, not too slow. It was able to asorb a hit or two as others just couldn't resist the tasty pizza pie in the southwest. But, because of the modest growth, it wasn't the cash cow that Burger became (or Chocolate in it's prime) and that eventually led to the downfall of Pizza. Two turns, two hits on Burger. The first hit made Pizza close up operations in St. Louis and Pheonix and become bare bones. The second hit, Pizza closed up shop for good and the country has to eat from Burger Brothers until next time.

You gotta chip away at the burgers with a little "style" (family style) or SURPRISE! (chicken surprise)
