This should be common knowledge. Anyone who survives long enough to get within two feet of G-------'s tail can see the little circle with the "C" in it.

Seriously, I wonder if this has any bearing on Richard Berg's upcoming "Godzilla" game? Since RHB is an attorney I'd be willing to wager that he has it covered, particularly since it sounds like an impressive big-box extravaganza with 3D bits.

I was at least glad to see that the folks with the rights were willing to let a charitable organization go as a non-profit. Not every firm would do that.

The creator of Godzilla died in 1997. I don't feel like any of his rights are being trampled on here.

Why not? If I create something and I want my children to control the destiny of it, I should be allowed that. Unles you're suggesting all inheritance should be outlawed. If you didn't create it or have a hand increasing why should it be turned over to you? What have you done to earn it? Simply drawn a breath?

do you feel that way about all the scientific, medical, engineering creations that you use for free everyday?

BTW my statement doesn't have anything to do with inheritance.

Legally it lasts 50 years after the orriginator is dead.
If I were being cynical, I'd say that delay is to ensure "accidents" to the orriginators are not a profitable tactic.
