Yeah, since from the TOP of this 'hour', then they conduct their RESET for the 'site' and it is best to avoid that, while you can continue AFTER that by around 30 minutes or more. Just take *note* for the TIME it is where you are at on this and PLAY accordingly.

I think I've seen this happen before. There might be a problem with the .prop file, or you may need to redownload/reinstall the client. Back up your current .prop file before you try anything.

I haven't been able to connect to BSW for a couple of days now. I use the java client, and it hangs on updating.

I was assuming all of BSW is down, as I can't even open www.brettspielwelt.de in my browser.

Are others able to connect?

Just tried from here in SoCal, and everything looks fine. I can connect through browser and client.

Try pointing your browser at http://78.111.72.162

If that works, you and/or your ISP are having DNS issues. Try clearing your browser cache, restarting, and going to www.brettspielwelt.de.

For the client, try the fixes suggested in this post: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/article/2636709#2636709

I am having the exact same problems as well, also on the West Coast. Going to the BSW website does not help as it will not load, same as the game client. http://78.111.72.162 will not load either. If it is a problem with the ISP having DNS issues, is there anything we can do to our computer to fix it or do we just have to wait for the problems to get resolved at the ISP company?

OK, you're not having DNS issues. http://78.111.72.162 would work if it was just DNS.

Try the test that ARMistice suggests in the post here:

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/article/2838985#2838985

While you're at it, in addition to the tracert command, try these two commands:

ping -4 game.brettspielwelt.de

and

ping -6 game.brettspielwelt.de

I'm participating in a thread at BSW's forum, since there seems to be at least one person there with a similar connection problem. I'll report back here if they are able to resolve things over there.

I'm interested in seeing the results of tracert commands from other people in this thread. I really only need to see the last few useful lines, like mine:

Quote:
8 ge8-3-10G.ar4.LAX2.gblx.net (64.212.107.121) 33.099 ms 34.402 ms 36.078 ms
9 Surfplanet-GMBH.ge-1-2-0.404.ar2.FRA2.gblx.net (207.138.122.202) 207.896 ms 207.454 ms *
10 game.brettspielwelt.de (78.111.72.163) 208.800 ms * *

You can omit any lines that only say "Request timed out"

Ricky,

I'm assuming you're still getting similar results for your tracert command as you posted in the other thread: your tracert command gets to blahblahblah.netcologne.de and then times out?

Same problem here, Silicon Valley, AT&T DSL.

It's funny, the initial screen (Wasser Feuer Luft BSW) comes up, with three green check marks. That usually means the connection is ok. The login box also comes up, but the main screen is gray behind it and the login box doesn't close when I enter my login.

I also can't connect to http://www.brettspielwelt.de/ in my browser (IE).

FYI I've tried on both PC and Mac and get the same result as other US West-Coasters (browser won't load, client hangs on grey screen and login window won't close after submitting correct login info). I'm in Los Angeles. Somebody help! cry

UPDATE 12:54pm PDT: I am now able to get onto BSW, after about a day of not being able to. Thanks to all who replied to help!
