Dominion will get a new cover art from Michael Menzel in Germany (www.hans-im-glueck.de) in order to make it more compatible for the mass-market. I think they said s.th. like the old cover was too dark and too aggressive. Fortunately the cards won't be changed - buyers of the first edition could be outraged - and the costs would be to high. Will the next Riograndegames-version have the new cover too? Usually I appreciate Michael Menzel's work but in I don't think it matches to the rest of the game. What do you think?

Indeed, it doesn't match to the rest... Some of the characters are recycled but this artwork has nothing to do with the style of the cards inside. Besides, I'm probably part of a minority here but I really like the original artwork of the box. Too dark? Too agressive? Could be... (although I don't agree). But the new version is way too soft... And the undertitle is a horror (as I read elsewhere). Positioning the title in the middle of the box was not a very good thing to do either.
We've got the thief, spy, and witch hanging out. The militia are there, and I think those are the guys from the mine. We can see the corner of the lab as well. I also like the HiG logo being used as the tavern sign.
