Sometimes there just doesn't seem to be anyone around who wants to play a board game. But you've got this itch that MUST be scratched.

The Solution? Play a board game with your pet…

Too funny (albeit a bit obvious, but still a good chuckle).

It's not such a crazy idea.

People play games with their pets like "fetch the ball", "tug of war", "Westminster Dog show" and so on. A game like Rothman's, where a group of pet owners try to get their pets to do silly things sounds like it could be fun with the right crowd (four-legged crowd that is )

My cats' top ten include:

1) Dice soccer
2) Cube soccer
3) Meeple soccer (based on Neil Gaiman's Game of Cat and Man)

Not a lot of common ground with my own game preferences.

We tried playing Ark with our daughter's tortoise...

... but he was an AP sufferer, really slow, and by the end of the game he was stuffed.

These guys did it first:

Nairb Attobas's (ben_ethus) "Me vs Girlfriend vs Our Cat vs A Baby" session report for San Juan (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/99023), and Chris Darden's (cbdarden) "Me vs. my cat" session report for Fluxx (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/107627). Both are fun reads
