Take-Two Interactive offers a free download of the original Sid Meier's Railroad Tycoon. Note that this is a DOS-based game originally released in 1990. A copy of DOSBox, an open-source DOS emulator, is included.

that's why i posted it in deals instead of "latest/greatest games".
sometimes its fun to go back and play a classic game from your childhood. starcontrol 2 and RRt are still fun to break out and play for some of us old folks.

I agree. Something was lost from 2 to 3. I found in 2 there was always something to do, whereas 3 was more simplified half the time I find myself just waiting for trains to roll around.

PLayed the original a while ago. Really makes one appreciate the newer versions.
