Hi geeks,

it would be nice if the "Published By" field shows the first edition publisher considering the year beyond the original game name. And a new field "Other Publisher". So the user can see where the game is from. It would be better if the other game names are related to the publisher and the country.
Something like this:

Game Entry:
(original name) Kakerlaken-Poker (2004)
(English name if available) Cockroach Poker

Information:
Designed By:
Jacques Zeimet

Published By:
Drei Magier Spiele

Other Publisher:
Marektoy
REBEL.pl
KoreaBoardGames

Other Names:
Cockroach Poker
Torakkapokeri
kakkerlakkenpoker
Blafuj
Blefuj!
Bug Bluff

I think this is a very important information about a game !

Regards,

Not more like this?!

And yep, this is a very useful information!

gerraldo, I think something like you suggested would be the best solution. Aldie or Derk could code this and the geeks could sort the information appropriately through something like geekmodding. I think in a few days the whole database could be updated.

Many thumbs up for this great suggestion!

Great suggestion! I think it's a wonderful idea, also very applicable to the "other official names VS inofficial translations/nicknames" trouble that was up some time ago.

I support the idea of getting the information at a glance, who was the first publisher of a certain game.
If reworking this kind of information by Aldie I would like to see furthermore when a second or a third edition was published.
I also support the usefulness to know when foreign editions were published by which other publishers.
This would be a step forward for collectors and completeness of the BGG database.
