Today, we played the first game with the fully cooperative variant rule and felt really frustrated. We tried the fully cooperative game first, since we were not familiar with the loyalty deck and wanted to understand the game mechanics first.
However, what we need to do is to concentrate on fighting with Cylon ships and it seems too tedious.
After playing this game for 30 minutes, we stopped to play it and change the other game. So, that's why I didn't recommend you to play the fully cooperative game and I thought the loyalty deck is the most important core of this game.

Why did you switch to a different game? You had the game setup, you should have understood the basics of game play at that point. You should have started over with the normal game.

I agree with you. We should try the normal game first.
We swith to a dfferent game, since we still need to read through the rule of loyalty deck first.

Playing the normal rules isn't going to change how fighting Cylons ships works.

One of the best way to fight Cylon ships is to have a pilot character fly out and use cards that allow him to attack 4 times, all the while someone is activating vipers at the command location. But also realize that you're not supposed to be able to wipe everything out, this is not a miniature wargame, nor is it a strategy boardgame. The idea is to last against the Cyclons until you either auto-jump or choose to jump normally.

So, it's okay to use those vipers as decoys that absorb attacks against civilian ships, they usually just end up damaged and can be repaired by anyone with repair cards.

If anything, adding loyalty cards might make it more frustrating to deal with space battles if you don't understand the space rules fully.

Thank you Anthony, that's a good strategy in the space combat.
Do I need to fire at the basestar first or swipe out raiders first?

The HUmans must constantly work to advance the jump track so the Galactica can jump and leave all the cylons ships behind (any Centurians that have boarded get to stay aboard the Galactica and all civilian ships and vipers are recovered).
