My girlfriend came into the kitchen this morning wanting to know why the computer was prompting her for $39.95 to get rid of "threats" on the PC.

Sigh.

So three hours of my Saturday is wasted removing a scourge called "Internet Antivirus" from my computer.

Worst part is, I might have been the one who infected my own PC.

I was looking for some ledger software I could use seeing I was given the tresurer role for my fire department's association. Must have been something I missed on it.

I don't run anti-spyware resource hog stuff on my pc, and run a minimally intrusive anti-virus.

I would love to find the makers of this vile piece of software, tie them to the nearest pile of fire ants and cover their feet in honey.

I've been in an active battle against Trojan at work for weeks now. I've cleared two computers, but I'm not sure one is going to make it. What sucks is that I'm not a tech guy.

In this day and age, it's boot from the XP cd and delete and reformat the partition.

It helps to run programs like CCleaner and Ad-Aware every once in a while, but paying attention while surfing is the best remedy.
