Recently purchased and played with 3 others. Liked it and all enjoyed. We tried the team play and a question came up near end game. Japan was down to a reduced draw deck and pulled Tokyo several times which did not allow any allied play. This could result in last 2 or 3 battles being won through acclamation. We through the card out after second draw, however was thinking may leave in but change to ' one player may not play allied'. Any others run into this , and/or have comments?

How did Japan get to a "reduced draw deck"?

Tokyo Rose is a force card. It is played, discarded when played and won't be able to be redrawn until the Force Deck runs out and is reshuffled.

Cards claimed as spoils reduced their deck to the point where they drew through cards ever 2 turns.

There should only be one one force deck, with both Japanese and American cards in it. If the total deck was reduced such that Tokyo Rose was coming up every few hands I could see this happening. But last time we played with a big group, I don't remember going through the force deck more than once.

As mentioned we were playing 'teams', therefore had seperated cards into 2 decks. Japan was getting shot up pretty bad and was going down . With aprox., 4-6 battles left the axis players could re-draw entire hand ensuring drawing Tokyo Rose would come back and win battle as no allied play after by 2 players. We decided to mark 2 battles max and after this limit card to 1 player may not play allied.

Hello,

Yesterday, we played 2 versus 2 player version.
And agreed.

"Tokyo Rose" is TOO storng.
Later part of the game, almost each player's hand limit is 8 or 9.
If both Japanese players select discard all hand or use Decisive Battle, they can exchange tons of cards.

At our session, Japanese team use it over 4 times and US team (me!) cannot do anything.

Is there any official answer?

P.S.
In our opinion, using Tokyo Rose should be one time only in Team game.
