Αt first it seemed that the human fleet would succeed in reaching Kobol. A group of six that seemed to be working very well together.

During the first Jump preparation there were a few problems with Water shortages and riots that were resolved peacefully without much resource expenditure. A terrorist bomber and a crippled raider were successfully dealt with, whereas a Cylon swarm did nothing against the fleet’s two experienced pilots Apollo and Starbuck. So the fleet arrived at a Tylium planet with no actual problem and no apparent traitors.

Things got a bit interesting during the second Jump preparation. The meetings with the Olympic carrier as well as a crash landing were successful, and a weapon malfunction caused no trouble. A water shortage was resolved by skilful negotiations but a few mishaps followed. Cylon screenings and forced water mining lowered the fleet’s morale despite the small increase of food resources and a hangar accident made it necessary to leave a civilian ship behind. Also the first signs of mistrust begun to show and Apollo was sent to the brig without anyone countermanding the order. It was then that Admiral Adama utilized the FTL drive and made a crucial mistake. Landing in the middle of a Cylon ambush made Tom Zarek reveal himself as a Sympathizer.

So as the Galactica was pounded by the Cylons some missing G4 and the requested resignation of the President caused the remaining humans to waste valuable resources. With Apollo in the Brig it was all Starbuck could do to fight off the Cylon raiders and it was soon apparent that Zarek had caused irreparable damage while on the ship. Instead of shooting off his nukes Admiral Adama revealed himself as a Cylon and before escaping the ship sent Starbuck to the Brig. All this was happening when more Cylon ships were surrounding Galactica. With only the steadying hand of President Roslin guiding them it was a small miracle that they managed to survive. While the fleet’s two star pilots were released and launched against the raiders completely neutralizing that threat, resources were being drained off. The malfunction of the network computers as well as the riots that followed caused a serious chunk of the fleet to become lost and then the low supplies as well as the increasing paranoia and the mandatory choices that had to be made caused a further decrease of morale. And then as Halo, acting as Admiral, used the nukes to destroy one of the Cylon basestars and the President was dealing with a food shortage a Cylon transmitted virus caused Galactica’s defenses to falter and the result was a centurion entering the ship. Event then and while a ferocious battle was raging Apollo returned to the ship and utilized the FTL drive for the final time.
Arriving at a Cylon refinery the Admiral sent out two vipers to find fuel but to no avail. The Galactica had been damaged that badly that before anybody had any chance to repair it President Roslin veered Colonial 1 towards the Cylon base and then triggered the explosives that destroyed the Battlestar.

Wow. Not only does that sound like a great game, but you solved a mystery for me!

See, I couldn't figure out how exactly a virus made a Centurion appear on board. Not having seen the show, it didn't make a whole lot of sense and the card doesn't explain it... and not one of my friends I've played with has seen much of the show.

But the idea that the defenses would fail and a Centurion raider slips in kind of makes sense...

Also, a centurion and a virus will do the same thing...

Get to life support, and expose the pinkies to void.
