I voted for Lee--in the absence of Grant, who I think would make a better Civil War choice...

What, Zhukov is in last place? surprise

Comrade Stalin never believed in polls anyway, and suggests you should go with Georgi. Or else

Is he the brother of Gengis Khan?

No, he's the more accurate pronunciation of Genghis Khan. Like 'Boudicca' is a more accurate pronunciation than 'Boadicea'.

Also voted for Lee, but second the motion that U. S. Grant would be a more interesting choice.

I double voted for GW and JC. I'm just not an ACW junkie. Rommel has been such a blast to play that I'd like to see Patton somewhere down the line, but for now I'm excited to see how the system works with different eras.

Doesn't this sound like more fun than the Civil War?

Actually I was torn between both Khan and Lee so I'll be happy either way.

Hi Dan,

I choose Washington because I love XVIII century. A game with Sun King could be great too (with siege). I'd like something about Renaissance (Francois 1er for example) too. And WW1.

A few people have mentioned preferring Grant over Lee. I'm not an ACW expert, but from what I've heard the North had an easier time of it with their industrial advantage. I would have thought this would have made for a less challenging game for Grant.

Thoughts?

I still think that Von Moltke's campaigns in 1864, 1866, and 1870 would make for good games, but that's just my own view.

I'm not sure that Lee would be "more challenging" than Grant. Grant had a number of challenges in his campaigns, particularly in the West, and was faced with an enemy who frequently had better leaders and more experienced troops.

In addition, Lee's campaigns were fairly localized, while Grant fought in a variety of theaters.

I'd definitely vote for Grant, or Sherman, over Lee. My personal feelings regarding the ACW aside (I'm definitely a Unionist), I also think the subject of General Lee is absolutely done to death. It would be nice to see a great Union General in the spotlight.

Simon,

That's odd, we have copies available. Has your store asked its distributor recently? We can ship them right out.
