I know one could delve into tabletop but I was curious if there was a Modern Board Game with minis kind of along the lines of Tide of Iron pieces? TIA, Jonathan

I was going to say "Tide of Iron" but....

Do you mean "modern" in the sense that the _war_ is modern?

Yes sorry, I would say around this time, Cold War or this era. Abrams, T-72's etc.

You might look into:

Battlefield Evolution

That game is basically discontinued, but they are continuing the system.

.

Could you please elaborate on that? I'm not sure what you mean when you differentiate the system from the game.

I own a small army, but have been unable to play in a while (I'm overseas) and a bit foggy about its business situation. Any info would help.

Thanks

I used to play Battlefield Evolution, back when the game came with pre-painted minis. Now I play Ambush Alley with Caesar 1/72 plastic minis. They have Modern US Army and Urban Resisters.

My understanding is that Mongoose is no longer manufacturing the miniatures for Battlefield Evolution, but they are going to be publishing new books with rules for different genres.

They re-released the original rulebook as Modern Combat. They have also published a WWII book and one for Zombies.
