Uther Redbeard and his viking buddies were having a pint or twelve in the local mead hall when a scurvy git of a King's messenger burst through the doors to announce the Hobbiton XXV Blood Bowl league.

Now Uther and the lads had never played a game of Blood Bowl in their lives but they'd punted a few goblin heads around the yard for kicks and giggles a time or two so they figured they had what it takes to succeed on the pitch. Besides they were a battle-hardened crew of mean vicious vikings that would enjoy crunching some bones. If that also meant winning some gold and getting some fine wenches along the way, so be it!

On the way to the pitch, they came across a drunken Minotaur, Tahngarth Bloodhoof, that challenged the boys to a fight. Uther tricked the beast into a game of chance instead. The stakes were high: if Tahngarth won he could have his way with his pick of the men's wenches, if he lost he had to join the team. Of course the game was rigged and Uther won. Tahngarth resented having to serve the puny humans until he found out that the kegs of mead would be endless...

Hobbiton XXV Match One

Worn-out from the long journey from the North, and a bit hungover from the previous night's festivities the Ragna Rockers took the pitch against some ugly humans called the Nuln Pistoleers. Tahngarth was pleased to see they'd brought an Ogre along to play. He couldn't wait to bury his horns in the big oaf's gut.
But the lads found out there was more to this Blood Bowl business than just crunching bones. First off, they learned the crowds aren't full of pansy gad-abouts when a bunch of rowdy sodders invaded the pitch. The bum rush caught the boys off guard and by the time the pitch was cleared 5 of them lay on the ground stunned. The humans shortly after scored. Throughout the match the god Nuffle punished the heathen Rockers and favored the other team (double skulls, reroll, double skulls) but the worst part of the game was when Erik Grimsson was killed by the ogre Rocksplitter. The end result was a 3-1 loss. Olaf Ironside got himself some lead gloves to deliver a Mighty Blow against their next opponents but in the meantime, the lads are gonna lick their wounds, drink some mead, chase some wenches and do some training. They're a proud bunch and they don't take losing lightly.

Hobbiton XXV Match Two
After a couple days of rest and recuperation, and some intense practices, the Ragna Rockers took the pitch against Vigspar, a squad of rival Norsemen. Each squad was determined to be the only Norse contenders and the bad blood started before the match began when one of the Vigspar's knocked a full tankard out of Rorik Kegbuster's hand in the hallway outside the dressing room. This enraged Rorik and the game that ensued was a bloody viking battle that would have made the Halls of Valhalla stand up and cheer.
By the time the game ended a lot of blood had been spilled and the Ragna Rockers emerged victorious 2-0. Rorik badly hurt Max, the guy who spilled his mead, and another Vigspar player just for good measure. Uther Redbeard joined in on the fun and badly hurt Frank, the Vigspar captain. Leif Wyrmtooth, the Rockers' ace thrower, had a star game with 2 completions and he smashed the hand of Vigspar's blitzer, Brian. The apothecary fixed up his hand but left his medicine on the field which Leif swiped. It seemed to give him Sure Hands. Rockers' lineman Bjorn Bearskin got hurt badly by Ferman and Harold Snowmane pulled his groin when he got his cleat stuck in an opponent so he'll have to miss the Rockers' next game. Uther thought it was time to hire a team doctor so after the match they went and hired the drunkest one they could find. The lads are gonna take a few days to celebrate their win and will be back at it soon.

Hobbiton XXV Match Three
After a lengthy break between matches the Rockers were eager to get back on the pitch for some Blood Bowl mayhem. Today Uther's crew of Nordic warriors were facing off against some stunty Dwarves calling themselves the Red Rage Rumblers. They didn't look that dangerous but the Rockers quickly found out they could block just as well as they could and their Dwarven armor was superior to their own. Not helping matters was the fact that Harold Snowmane was still nursing his hurt groin so the boys were starting down a man. Things didn't start off so well as the Rumblers won the coin toss and opted to receive. On their first turn they decimated the Rocker's LoS and a particularly nasty longbeard named Arp badly hurt Bane Eriksson. Arp proved to be a dangerous menace as he killed Lars Northstar on the next turn. Luckily for Lars the new apothecary was able to bring him back from the halls of Valhalla, as it was not yet his time to go. The dwarves' extreme aggression and violence continued unabated and it wasn't long before the Rockers were only fielding 6 players. Needless to say the bearded stunties managed to score.
The 2nd half saw the Rockers fielding 7 players to receive the kick off. The action picked up where it left off, with dwarves pounding the Rockers into the turf. Tahngarth the minotaur went into a primal rage and failed 4 wild animal rolls in a row. Nuffle's contempt for Uther's squad changed to favor however as brave Bjorn Bearskin bore the brunt of the bearded blockers and blodged his way into the end zone with the ball! This got the Rockers' fans fired up and one of them threw a rock on the ensuing kick off that beaned the lone runner left back to retrieve the kick. All in all, a rocky start and rough game that ended up not too bad for the boys. They won some new fans (FF+) with their gutsy effort and team captain Uther Redbeard found all these games were making him a better player (AG+). Bring on the next challengers!

Hobbiton XXV Match Four

The Rockers had a bad feeling when they took to the pitch and were assailed by the unholy stench of rotting flesh. Down the field there was an evil and angry looking horde of beastmen and they'd brought a corpulent Beast of Nurgle! Uther told his men they were brave viking warriors and had nothing to fear from the stinking In Mutations We Trust Rotters and that Nurgle was no god compared to Odin. This may have been a costly mistake as it likely invoked the wrath of Nurgle himself. The game started out raining but the weather quickly cleared up but it was not to be the Rockers' day. On the Rotters first turn they knocked out 2 of Uther's lads and BH Olaf Ironside. A couple turns later and Leif Wyrmtooth was killed by a nasty beastman named Cankerspoor, luckily the apothecary saved him. On the next block, Rollo Koldheart was badly hurt. By the 4th turn the Rockers only had 6 players on the field and the luck meter showed 43%-90% against them. The first half ended with the goats scoring after forcing a turnover.
The 2nd half saw Uther's squad fielding 9 players vs 10 for the goats. Immediately Heimdall Wulfkin got badly hurt and another lineman got KOd. A short while later the Beast of Nurgle damaged the minotaur Tahngarth's back, giving him a permanent (niggling) injury. After the wave of violence the bloodthirsty goats ran in another touchdown and kicked off. On the kick off, Nurgle's team got the ref and they began fouling with impunity. Uther and the lads were glad when the whistle finally blew to end the game. Final score 0-2, 0-5 casualties and 57-71 luck. There was a glimpse of hope when Olaf Ironside picked up his 2nd skill but that was quickly dashed when he picked up a niggling injury on the aging roll. "It's going to be tough to bounce back from that one," lamented Uther. "Spirits are pretty low right now but we're warriors and we've got lots of fight left in us yet. Now I gotta find some recruits and figure what I'm going to do with my nigglers."

Tahngarth Bloodhoof Retires
After getting stomped on by a Beast of Nurgle and suffering chronic back problems, Tahngarth decided he'd rather just get drunk all the time. Uther convinced him to stay on as a coach.

Hobbiton XXV Match Five
After the devastation they endured during the last match, the Rockers were determined to get some payback against another opponent. Olympique Chaotique, another nasty bunch of goats backed up by a troll, were going to be the target of the Rockers' rage. Both teams started by fielding only 10 players, so it seemed the goats were a little banged up as well. Things started pretty well for Uther's crew as there were only 4 beastmen left on the pitch by turn 6. The vikings were out for blood and none was more fearsome than Rollo Koldheart who ended the day with 2 casualties and an interception! Olaf Ironside continued his bruising ways when he killed a mangy goat called Sism Ique and Lars Northstar had a great game with a TD and a casualty. The Norse warriors laid waste to their opponents and stalled the game out to win 2-0. The squad is really learning to play together now and learning to watch each others' back as Rollo and Lars both learned Guard and Heimdall Wulfkin, who also scored a TD, can hit a bit harder now (MB). "We put our devastating loss behind us and came out to win," said Uther Redbeard, the team's captain. "I knew we would play fiercely and the boys didn't disappoint."

Ragna Rockers Hire Itanar'juat
With a bunch of gold in the team chest and with the void left by Tahngarth's retirement, Uther thought it would be a good idea to hire some muscle. So he went out and found Itanar'juat, an Ogre come down from Norsca to watch the Hobbiton Cup tourney. Itanar'juat was impressed with the Rockers and agreed to join the team in exchange for a percentage of the team's winnings.

The Journeyman rule prevents a team from having to start with ten men. Your roster gets filled with extra linemen.

Except these games were played on fumbbl.com which uses LRB4, thus no journeyman rule.

It is not neccesary to hire these free journeyman, you can start with lwss than 11 players (maybe you prefere to have some more inducement cash)
