Starting today and on each Wednesday, I plan on informing you all on all that has annoyed me in the previous 7 days because, hey, you need to know these things...

1. My client getting angry at me because she didn't understand the term "aspect ratio" and never bothered to ask.

2. My client in general.

3. People who claim Mickey Rourke came out of nowhere for his big comeback turn in The Wrestler. Especially since these are the same people who forgot they said that about his role as Marv in Sin City.

4. My wife singing the Muppet Babies theme on a loop. (I have found suffocating her to be only a temporary solution.)

5. The former board member of our co-op repeating himself more than my wife singing Muppet Babies about his grievances rather than letting people speak about solutions.

6. The woman on the subway who stood in an inconvenient position in relation to me despite my spot having been well established prior to her boarding.

7. Dressing for the wildly varying temperatures that are my home, office, and outdoors.

8. Coworkers refusing to learn PitchCar because they don't want to take the time to learn a new game.

9. Clients who wait until after I complete drafts of work to change their minds about promotions thus forcing me to start from scratch. (4 instances in the last week.)

10. Drowning in A-Rod and Favre stories.

11. Chapel's desires to make a cuckold of all other Chit Chatters.

12. Murakami. I don't even know if I spelled that correctly. He doesn't deserve proof-reading.

13. The weekly all-company meeting.

14. The people who insist on standing behind my cube during the all-company meeting.

Several weeks ago, my wife and I went to Ruby Tuesday for dinner. We were one of only three couples in the dining room, but for whatever reason, one of the waitresses leaned on the back corner of our booth any time that she took a break. After a few funny looks and a firm, "You know, it really freaks me out when people invade my personal space," she got the hint and went to lean on someone else's booth.

Seriously! Watch! I'll explain the rules in a haiku:

Flick disk, stay on track
Replace car where it fell off
First across line wins

Things that I'm especially sympathetic toward:

erak wrote:

1. My client getting angry at me because she didn't understand the term "aspect ratio" and never bothered to ask.

In this day and age... check.

erak wrote:

3. People who claim Mickey Rourke came out of nowhere for his big comeback turn in The Wrestler. Especially since these are the same people who forgot they said that about his role as Marv in Sin City.

Check.

erak wrote:

4. My wife singing the Muppet Babies theme on a loop. (I have found suffocating her to be only a temporary solution.)

Check!

erak wrote:

6. The woman on the subway who stood in an inconvenient position in relation to me despite my spot having been well established prior to her boarding.

Egads, Check.

erak wrote:
7. Dressing for the wildly varying temperatures that are my home, office, and outdoors.

Check. Do like how it was warm, sleeting, snowing giant snowflakes, raining, windy, and then warm again today? Oh, New York.

The writer or the artist?

The thing that got me:
Friday, we went to my friend's band that I wanted to show up a little late for as she has a different definition of what I consider enjoyable music. $10 cover for the wife and I, we came in 1/2 way into the last song. I got an overpriced beer for each of us. The set ended, everyone wanted to leave, I had to close out the tab below the minimum and had to down the beer.

New Bar. Crowded. Not enough room for the whole party to sit together. We split. We were all comfortable having a great conversation and were going to order food. Then suddenly there is an urge to join the group of 15 all together again, empty tables are promised, everyone leaves the table, there weren't enough seats and so we all crowd in the corner by the speaker standing with no way to get food.

How's that?

The writer, though I'm sure if he just said to himself "gee, I really want to be an internationally reknowned artist now", he would pull it off in a month. That's why he annoys me.

Wait, which writer?

Ryu or Haruki?

I love Haruki (though I get the disdain), but Ryu kind of sucks outright.
