So we have really, really hard water in Kalamazoo. I mean this stuff comes out and clinks against the sink. It's awful
So we, of course, installed a water softener right after we moved in. The thing broke a few weeks back and I've been playing with Culligan ever since. "We'll be there at 9:30," this translates to we'll call at about 10:30 and see if you're there. Since my wife and I both work, this type of 'scheduling' makes things tricky.
Anyway, my skin has been not handling the water very well. Last night I was sitting and watching the Mythbusters and I though 'Wow, my knuckles sure feel weird.' I look down and watch the skin just randomly start splitting open. Without doing anything I suddenly had bloody knuckles from about 8 little splits.
The moral of this story is F Kalamazoo water and a great big F-U for Culligan. The friggin water is orange and smells like car exhaust!!! That's not right.

Lotion can help. Also, don't soap.

That's why every morning I coat myself in a thick layer of lotion rather than take a shower.
