There are lots of them; just search GeekLists for "trick".

Here's the first one that comes up:

As grey traces of dawn tinge the eastern sky, the three travellers, men of Willowdale, emerge from the forest's shadow. Fording the river, they turn south, journeying into the dark and forbidding lands of The Necromancer...

Off the top of my head, I would recommend Piquet, German Whist, or Bezique.

David Parlett has designed some of the best card games, including some excellent two player trick taking games:

If you can find a copy of the book A Gamut of Games, then you could try Slam, a two player trick taking game with bidding.

There's also Bridgette, another one that features bidding.

There are some good Italian 2p trick taking games:
Briscola
Scopa

and there's also
Xactika

All fun. The first two are mega fun.

Pinochle is probably my favorite trick taking two-player game (although I prefer Partnership Pinochle).

Bridgette is also a good two-player trick taking game. The designer of Bridgette is now the editor for Bicycle Official Rules of Card Games, and includes the rules in that book.

I personally adore Gin Rummy. It's a fun game, easily learned and can be played with 2 or more players.

Edit: Ooops, had a senior moment there. I meant German Whist.

Gin Rummy is a very fun 2 player game but not close to beeing a trick taking game

Let me add that if you are searching for card games using what is considered a "common" deck of cards, then I would highly recommend what I consider the best resource for card games on the web...John McLeod's Card Games website located at:

www.pagat.com
