Re: Is it possible to loose thumbs ?
You probably meant to say "lose" thumbs, rather than "loose" thumbs. One means that your thumbs are accidentally misplaced (Lose) while the other means that you've unscrewed your thumbs.

For one, people can un-thumb items they thumbed (click again on the now grayed-out thumb icon)

And then it's possible that a user deletes his account, along with all his contributions. Including his thumbs.

There's also the possibility that the Thumburglar is on the loose again!

The Thumburglar must be stopped!

I'm pretty sure that deleted accounts do NOT delete thumbs they've given.

If you reply to a forum post or GeekList and get thumbs for your reply, and the original poster decides to delete that forum post or GeekList; you'll lose the thumbs you received from your reply to that deleted item.

I've occasionally deleted old, redundant and outdated geeklists in the past... some of which had 50+ thumbs so yes it's quite possible to lose thumbs.

If you want them all back again all you need to do is create a thread with bacon and Busen Memo in it.

shake It sure does, for when they insist on this! There have been "exceptions" to the "Rule", and not JUST for that alone on plenty. The truly REAL adjudicating fostering consists with your worthy 'content' no matter what it shall entail.

That's stupid... if your account is deleted, your posts shouldn't be deleted as well... all that's going to do is make some topics make a hell of a lot less sense...

And if it deletes games you've submitted, well that's just obviously counterproductive.

Well, there have been a few folks that have automated the process of thumb-giving. Derk, the Admin, posted his displeasure of that fact in a thread and at least one person who had been thumb-bombing, that is, adding a users name to a program and having every post or contribution old and new thumbed, decided to reverse the process, un-thumbing things they had thumbed. If you had stumbled across a particular thread and posted in it, you got added to the process whether you wished it or even aware of the process. You then could possibly have gotten a bunch removed, but if you haven't visited that thread, I don't know what else it could be besides a manual thumb-reversal or an account/thread deletion.

No, I'm not naming the thread or the user. That particular issue has already been raised enough and that's about as much as the issue deserves.
