Idea for wizard room.

This card would be shuffled into all levels after the player finds the amulet.

The mad wizard has found you!
perform perform an agl test 5 (maybe 6) + a int test 5 to escape.

W: gain a potion
L: The wizard steals your amulet and you lose 2 hp

Return this card to the room deck on the next level if you win.

Exhaust this card once done and replace with a new room card.

Instead of having to go all the way back to the treasure chamber like the first time, a second wizard card could be used to place in the deck where you catch up and have to fight him (or the catch up rules could just be added to the first wizard card). Instead of an agl + int test, it could be a int test + str. Int to shake off the effect of his spell and str for the actual battle. Beat him two times and he never appears again.

I didn't want the tests to be too big like 8, then it could get way too frustrating.

I think the game could be played with 4 levels down, then 4 levels up. the enemies still getting harder on the way out. just add the room with the amulet to the 4th floor instead of eighth floor.
