A new target destination for us today, the aircraft factory at Romilly, south of Paris.

Our new pilot, Capt Steve Burrows is flying with us for the first time. He's been on a couple of familiarisation flights and we've had good reports back from those crews, so here's hoping. We've also been promised an all-out fighter escort today.

Well, maybe the bosses were right, loads of our little friends buzzing around. They've obviously woken them all up to help us! We get to Paris before the first fritzes break through and we get a couple of bullets into the ship. If we've fired a hundred rounds ourselves, that's all, very quiet.

Over the target a 109 comes at us head on but the bombardier, Beavis takes him out with just one burst. It really is that sort of trip. Some things never change though. Admittedly poor weather, but our bombs drift harmlessly wide...again. The crew are starting to get the jitters.

The journey back is just as quiet. 99% of the ammo is still on board, the armourers won't like that, they prefer an empty crate, now they have to account for every round.

The most uneventful mission of our tour so far. No crew lost, or even injured and another 109. But still a bombing record of 0% I think Beavis may have a few questions to answer in de-briefing.
