Greetings,

As you know it's very hard to find quality play testers for your games. I am on the final stages of setting up a new site to help game developers find people to play test as well as handle the scheduling and feedback processing for these games.

I would like to go live with this site once it has a few games listed in its database. No point in sending players there without any for them to look into playing. So, asking you developers directly to point you to the site in hopes that you'll list your game with us.

To add your game go here: http://www.playtesters.net/addgametype.php

We do not host any images or files so you'll need to point to your site or your BoardGameGeek.com page. PlayTesters.Net site is for board games, computer games, and pen & paper role-playing games.

Just so you know who I am, you may checkout my bio page at http://www.JamesMathe.com - but in short I'm pretty well connected in the gaming community and run several large websites with lots of potential play testers. I will also be spending some time and money promoting this new site in the next few weeks so your game would get additional exposure.

Thanks for your time.
James

That's a great idea. I've been thinking of starting a site like this myself for the last few months. Guess you beat me to it! I'm glad someone got on this, because it's a great resource. Requests for play testers has to be one of the most common posts in this forum!

BTW - Your site looks good. Nice design work. Would be nice if playtesters could rate the games and people can see what the new great games are! Perhaps a graph of a game's rating over time throughout the playtesting process?

Thanks!

Mike

I would reccommend any of James' services and this particular idea is warranted because of the ongoing difficulty in finding testers. BTW James is probably the hardest working person in tabletop gaming.

Umm... not sure who you are, but thanks

I've made some more updates to the site (including leaving feedback and such) and will open to the public soon as I get a couple more games listed as accepting play testers.

Just one of many people who had a game pdf listed at RPGNow. "Cyber-Sea" as it was called. And yer welcome. I think you might get a lot of interest on this tester site idea.

James,

I'll be adding a game design of mine in the next few weeks. Looking forward to finding people to test my creation. I just need to work on creating PDF's that are printable that people can print on their own to test with.

When you say 'RPG' you seem to mean pen-and-paper RPGs, whereas lots of people use this to mean computer RPGs. And since the site is for both, this might lead to confusion.

Editing the details for a game that you've submitted doesn't seem to work properly.

It asks you to

" Select the game you wish to edit.
Press the EDIT button"

However after doing this, it doesn't take to you a screen where you can change the details of the game - all that comes up is a link to "Host a Game."

Cool. That problem's now fixed.

At the moment you can search for playtesters by particular criteria. I'd like to have the capacity to message them all at once, and/or to send a message to anyone new who joins who meets the criteria.
