I'm lazy, if I put my shoes on, I leave them on until bedtime.

If I can avoid wearing shoes, I will. I go barefoot all summer.

Socks are IMO the best idea, unless I'm chasing a visiting toddler on my hardwood floors. In those cases, the loss of grip that a cotton sock can bring could lead to injuries or death.

The short answer is "socks or barefoot" (or both, if I'm channeling Anthony Kiedis), but if I come home and immediately get busy with something else, I'll forget to take off my shoes and just keep doing my thing. Also, if I'm doing any work that requires standing for a lengthy amount of time (housework or, more likely, print-and-play projects), I'll try to put shoes on, but I sometimes forget. It's just so comfortable without shoes, but if I stand barefoot on our hardwood floor for too long, my planar fasciitis acts up, so I really should.

As soon as I get in the door, it is shoes off. I hate having shoes on while at home. Yuech!

Occasionally socks will be worn, if it is cold. I have some ugly Hello Kitty slippers too for the tile flooring. It gets cold here in Canberra during winter.

This is me, if I have a long day where I have to wear shoes 12+ hours in a row, my feet hurt. I might wear slippers if it's cold on the floor (up in the great white north, eh), but otherwise it's typically socks or preferably barefoot. When I go game at most friends house, shoes come off, socks stay on.

I think I got this way because my mom was pretty strict about people not wearing shoes in her house. I think it was a cleanliness issue and I kinda agree. I generally prefer people not wear shoes around my home, but if we are having a large get together, I don't mention it and just clean up afterwards.

Generally barefoot, maybe slippers or socks in cold weather.
But if I'm going to be standing in the kitchen for a while I wear footwear with a cushioned sole, because the cold hard tiles aren't very kind to my feet.

I love being barefoot. I wear sandals as soon as the weather permits and--yes--will even wear them with socks. I am something of a sock snob, though, and will not wear crappy, dollar-store tube socks. When I'm barefoot and visiting, I always carry a nice pair to don when I enter someone's home.

It really bugs me when people wear shoes indoors.. Especially in my house. However where i live 99% of people are accustomed to taking off your shoes when you enter a house.

However American Television shows that people just walk around homes with shoes on. I don't know if this is true, or just part of bad television, where the actors where shoes becaues they're on a set.
