after kind request of user arguss I'm working on another track.
This time I'll call them WORLD SERIES: it's time for Brasilia, NELSON PIQUET Circuit.

This is a fast preview of my WorkInProgress.

Suggestions are welcome (as usual).

Thank you

Ok, you just spoiled me, Alessandro... I was working on the same track, but your rendition is better than mine. I think I'll design Tarumã then...

The second turn (the one on the south center) shouldn't have any stops, as it's a fast one. The outer circuit is called an 'oval', even if it's not on oval shape, so that curve is really fast. In other words, that should be part of the straight.

Gosh...
Don't stop your work! You are a really good FDé Track Designer.
You fit better than me, designing this track (I'm Italian, while you are Brasilian!!!!).
HEHE

I've also removed the middle bottom turn, as you suggested.
What do you think about Turn Stops? (I've put some 1 and some 2 stop corners).

Allesandro, this track looks very good, like all your tracks do.

I have a suggestion for a track I would like to see.

Could wee possibly tempt you into doing...
Spoiler (click to reveal)
Nurburgring Nordsleife?

Another thing, don`t know if you already know this.
Asmodee will run a track design contest later this year and the winner will be published as expansion 3 for Formula D. I think you should give that a go as you design very good tracks.

Hello Caesar and everyone, I have recently gotten into Formula Dé, and I have done a little track drawing myself. I'd like to do more sometime, maybe even designing my own corner layouts of real tracks as you all have done.

I've compiled some stats regarding corners which I will be posting soon.

Nice track Caesar! thumbsup

Thank you Stig.
As long as I know there more than one "Nurburgring Circuit" edition.
At least old one and new one, right?
Which one do you prefer?

Thank you for pointing me out on Track Design Contest from Asmodee... I'm proud for my nominee. :-D
HAve you got a link to see about this contest?

Thank you again

I belive "Nordsleife" refers to the older, very long incarnation. That would be very large to print appropriately, but it would still be an interesting thing to see!

No problem at all. We should co-ordinate our 'design schedulles' from now on, so we don't work on the same track at once.

They seem fine, but I'd change T4 to 2 stops and T9 to 1 stop... T4 is the slowest turn on the track and T9 is a mildly quick one.

Hi Caeser.

Nordschleife is indeed the LONG one. Still used for Nurburgring 24 hours, but not for Formula 1 anymore.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordschleife_fastest_lap_times

This is a link to wikipedia about Nurburgring. There is a map of Nordschleife . 20,8 km of sheer fun and 70 plus turns.

I lapped it in 5.27 in Gran Turismo 4 with Nissan R92CP.

I would indeed be quite big, but it wouldn`t be a point in printing the forrest in the middle of the track. But it would probably take up the space of 4 original tracks if keept in scale, so it might be difficult to do.

But if you chose to do it, good luck! You have my support!

Regarding the design contest from Asmodee, I got my info from Boardgamenews.com and the post by Henry Rhombus (Editor of Boardgamenews.com) in this thread I started at the Formula D entry.

Hi Andre,
I'll fixup both turns (with 3 stops) ASAP.
Do you think Pit Stop Lane is ok?
I'll also start creating turn spaces...
Cheers

Hi Caesar,

Thanks for making these tracks for the Formula Dé community. I have drawn two tracks now myself, so I know how much work goes into this. (One was a redrawing and the other designed by me.)

I noticed a couple of things about this track. The pit stands are reversed from standard FDé convention. Ordinarily, white is closest to the pit entrance and blue is closest to the pit exit. Also, the pit exit path that bypasses that 2-stop corner could be problematic from a gameplay perspective. (The first edition of the Monaco track had this problem.) I see that the real track does follow that path, but it should probably be altered for the sake of FDé gameplay to have the pit entrance and exit on the same straight.

This track has a total of 17 stops across a full lap. There's nothing wrong with that, but it may be something to consider. The two tracks designed by Eric Randall and Laurent Lavaur that have the most stops are Monaco and Puy de Dome (RacerLine), both with 14 stops. I think they control playtime and flow by keeping the average number of stops around 10 per track. Of course, that's not a track design "rule" or something, it's just something to keep in mind when conceiving the feeling of flow on a track.

You have a 3-stop corner that is 11/6 preceded by a 6-space straight out of a long 1-stop. That short of a 3-stop corner will demand the use of second gear by every driver (first gear will likely be necessary if the longest route is blocked). In my opinion, that bogs down the speed and rhythmic flow that makes FDé fun. It may be more realistic to force the use of second gear, but even Loews (the slowest corner in all of F1) is navigable in third gear in FDé. Still, it may just be a matter of taste. (For reference, the shortest Randall/Lavaur 3-stop is 18 spaces long.)

I see some arrows that provide illegal moves. Some arrows on this track will allow a car to effectively move straight sideways. A rule of thumb is that if a space completely "keystones" another space, it must have a straight arrow instead of a split arrow. Examine Randall/Laurent corner arrows to see what I mean. Here is a clip of one of my drawings that shows keystoned corner spaces carrying straight arrows.

Anyway, keep up the good work. You are an asset to the Formula Dé community!
