It's Earth Hour 2009 tonight! http://www.earthhour.org/home/ Why is this in the general gaming forum? It's the perfect excuse to play an hour-long game with your family or friends by candlelight. Last Night on Earth: The Zombie Game, Zombies!!!, Betrayal at House on the Hill and even Pandemic could add to the event.
Got a bunch of environmentally concerned friends who haven't got into gaming yet? Tired of your kids wasting away on that console gaming system? Rope them in with games for the sake of the environment! No TV, no X360, it's perfect.

Just don't tell your environmentally concerned friends that you'll likely let out more CO2 by using candles than you would by just turning on a regular lamp.

Its not the turning on the lamp that matters, but how the power gets to that lamp.

Might be a good time to win some internet game auctions... while everybody else has the computer turned off I'll be bidding like a Congressman spending the taxpayer's money on "stimulus" projects.

Let's just hope it doesn't mess up our fragile power grids.
Maybe we oughtta all flush our toilets at the same time, just be sure at least one element of the infrastructure gets hosed...
Wouldn't it more useful for each of us to dispose of ten humans? That way we'd get at the root of the problem: too dang many people.

We have Darfur for that.
We don't need Eco-genocide thrown is as another horrible way of solving human problems.
Really, KILL people to solve issues with the environment?

Well, I am in Sydney tonight, it's 8:39 local time and the view from my hotel room (which does NOT cover the Opera House or Harbour Bridge) doesn't look any darker than it did at 8:19...
