That's why I said "most people you know of."

I was going to leave it at "most people," but some analytical types would no doubt object and point out that they don't know most people. So, "know of" is shorthand for your subjective impression of what most people in your community do.

Well that's a fairly existential statement. I can only attest for the people I know, but I would only be guessing about people I know of. I know of you, but I cannot be certain that you are even a gamer.

Same problem as Chapel. I willfully re-imagined the question to be;

"Do you play board/card games more than the average person?"

So, yes, much, much more. All my friends are gamers and many of them get to game more than me, so compared to my immediate circle of friends, I play often, but not out of proportion.

Compared to the populace at large? I'm a freakin' game fiend.

The "God" question...

We (the royal We) do not wish you to stop watching TV. We just want you to stop watching crap and start watching things that will make you a better person. Try watching more Modern Marvels and less American Idol.

We do not wish you would stop using the computer. We just want you to stop goofing off on the computer and start getting something good out of it. Try reading more Wikipedia and looking at less porn.

We would like you to spend more time gaming with other people of all creeds and nations in peace and harmony. Or whatever. Just be nice to people... if you want to game while doing it, that sounds great to Us.

We aren't really giving you orders, but We really think some of these things would be good for you and would make both you and Us happier. So give it some thought, eh?

Ban religion because there is no god, then go poof in a ball of existential quandary.

That's also pretty much what I meant. Here, I was just worried that some would quibble about what an "average person" is or whether there is such a thing.

If I hadn't been so lazy, I'd have done some research and said, "Polls show that most people surveyed watch X hours of TV per week; do you watch more or less than that?"

But then someone would've been sure to cast aspersions on that survey behind this poll, doubting the accuracy of its findings.

So, I reluctantly decided to go with "most people you know of."

TV is a tough one for me. I don't have cable and only watch the shows I am interesting in online. I don't know if this is computer or TV time, either way it is no commercials and only what I explicitly choose to watch. (I also have a computer attached to my TV so I can watch my internet bigger...)

However this can not be forced....

More people need to see the Futurama episode Godfellas and take to heart the advice at the end about how to be a good God;

I found some of my own questions hard to answer, and my answer surprised me in at least one case.

I opted to halve TV time and increase board/card gaming time, and by itself that's not at all unusual. But I don't watch much TV as it is, so I wouldn't gain much from that. Still, I chose that answer, because I couldn't bear to lose half my computer time.

Also, the best I could do with the first question is to say I play board/card games more than most people I know of--not a lot more. And I was wondering even about the "more" part. I definitely think and talk and read and write about games a lot more than most people. But when it comes down to actually playing, my frequency is probably not much above average, if at all. Might be below average, if I consider all the people who visit casinos and gamble.

I hadn't realized how precious my computer time was to me. Apparently that's not unusual around here, though.
