Is there any limit on the increase in total firepower an attacking or defending force may receive in a single combat as a result of the application of one or more special events (e.g., Achtung Panzer, Bruckmuller, Krupp, etc.)? As a suggestion, would a limit that prevents the basic firepower of a force (including the standard +4 adjustment for all combats) from more than doubling as a result of any or all special events being applied be appropriate? As a precedent, the increase from Air Superiority (8.1) is limited to the number of divisions, but that would seem somewhat draconian for all special events.

According to Ben Madison on CSW there is no limit to the number of coins you can use in a battle.

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't so much questioning the number of coins (i.e., number of special events) that could be used in a single combat. More, their total value. Suppose there were a single French army defending a hex that had only 1 division: its defensive strength would be 4, plus the normal 4 adjustment for a total of 8. If it used both Flamethrowers (+10) and On Ne Passe Pa (+20), that would bring up its total strength to 38. Seems like a pretty hefty total firepower for 1 division.

Would it be too game changing to say that the French player could only use special events to increase the firepower of this division by a maximum of 8? Just wondering. Seems a little odd to allow huge firepower adjustments when only small combat force is involved.

You make a good point but most battles are not worth using a coin for if your going to lose anyway (if you have one division its going to die). I can't imagine wasting valuable coins on battles involving tiny forces except in rare cases. So I think it should be ok to do it but it would a waste of a coin in most cases.

True enough. But it doesn't seem as if there is any formal ruling on this. Thanks.
