The deluxe version of Wizard comes with "bid wheels" -- little plastic units with a rotating wheel covered in numbers. Instead of bidding sequentially one-by-one, each person secretly turns his or her wheel to the number representing his or her bid. Then all players simultaneously reveal their bids.

On the BGG entry for Oh Hell! (the public domain card game on which Wizard is based), I recently described how to mimic bid wheels using standard dice (you do NOT roll them). The method would of course work for Wizard too:

It was fun, and made a game that is often played in our group feel a bit fresher.

If you covered the dice in some way( small cup) you could even play the Delayed hidden bid variant. That is where you show your bid after all the tricks have been taken.
