There must have been a moment at the beginning, where we could have said no. Somehow we missed it. Well, we'll know better next time.

When you play again, you can try to get people to differentiate whether they're eliminating a suspect because they actually saw the card (marked, say, with an "S") or because they deduced that he should be eliminated ("D"). So when you ask questions, you can choose to ask if they saw card(s) or just eliminated them via logic/hearsay (and the latter is probably more fallible, as we all know! ).

This is wrong, you cannot make a negative declaration. "The killer is NOT a Novice" is illegal, it has to be something like "The killer IS a Brother".
