(A) News on HKSW 18/4/2009 Meeting and the 15mm DBMM competition.
The next meeting will be held at the HITEC Centre of Kowloon Bay (7th floor, i.e. same floor as last time) on Saturday 18/4/2009. Note that we shall start the first round of 15mm DBMM competition in this meeting.
For indication, we have the following games hosted (subject to amendment and cancellation by the organiser):
(1) HKSW 15mm DBMM 120 competition (organiser: Lawrence Ho)
Competition start at 1:30 p.m.,
The rules for the figures compeition as follows:
To simplify matters again and allow a biger army, I suggest discounting the additional cost for being the General Element completely, just cost his element. The rational behind is : A Regular General is little better than an Irregular General as he only throws 1 Dice, if CV or LH even movement isn't much of a problem.
Therefore, for the upcoming DBMM competition, the cost of the general will be just the cost of his elementl. We also disallow use of BRILLIANT GENERAL and INERT GENERAL and strategem. Will update the messages in the Forum and Facebook again accordingly.
E.g. A regular general Cv(S) will cost 10 pts
A irregular general Cv(S) will cost 9 pts
The amended rules for the figures compeition as follows:
(1) Details of the proposed 15mm DBMM 120 competition as follows:
Army list from Book 1 to Book 4 can be used. Players need to bring their own army, 1 wood and 1 hill. Please also bring a table cloth where possible. The terrain will be preset by the organiser (Lawrence Ho who will not participate in this competition). The Commercial Set DBMM rules and army lists version prevails. It is a knock-out competition. Played with
120 AP armies. Each army has only 1 command and general, the C-in-C whose cost is just his element (i.e. the extra 20 pts for being a regular general & the extra 10 pts cost for being a irregular general do not apply) . Brilliant General &/or Inert General &/or STRATEGEM cannot be used. Up to 2 Baggage elements. Element minima are reduced to 1/4 rounded down and maxima to
1/2 rounded up. Up to 4 elements specified by army list as controlled only by an allied or subordinate general can be used. The battlefield is a 1,800p square tile. Please refer to page 44 of the DBMM rulebook for details.
In case there are less than 8 participants, there will be one trophy for the winner. Should there be 8 or more participants, there will be two trophies, one for the winner, one for the runner-up.
