I know I've seen Star Trek: Insurrection. I know I've seen it. But I can't remember a darn thing about it. Not a thing.

I love VI because of all the Klingon language involved (still have my dictionary! And the translation of Hamlet!), but IV has so many good memories associated with it.
"Colorful metaphors?"

"He did a lot of LDS in the 60s"

"Where are the nuclear wessels in Alameda?"
"I think they're over the bridge... in Alameda"
"That's what I said."

"Hellooo, computer."

And I love how they're in the Marina neighborhood of San Francisco when she pulls up in her pickup and asks where they're headed.
"Back over the bridge... to San Francisco."
They ARE in SF in that scene. But I guess folks wouldn't know that unless you'd been there or lived there. And the "Cetaceous Institute" is the Aquarium in Monterey Bay (about a 2 hour drive south of SF).

But being geeks y'all probably knew that already.

In VI, I dig the scene when the photon torpedo blows up Chang.

I went with IV as my favorite. I really liked VI also. The thingies in the ear weird me out too much to like Kahn. I had to sleep with both ears covered for years after watching that one and to this day I flip out when people touch my ears...

robot The general consensus is that Nemesis was awful, but I think it's the best of the Next Gen movies, and also has the best space battle sequence...yes, better than Khan. Still voted for Khan overall though. "From Hell's heart, I stab at thee!" Too classic. My other favorite with the original crew is Undiscovered Country.
The best space battle EVAR I think occurred on the Deep Space Nine series, when the Klingons attacked the station. Rotary photon torpedo launchers, Cap'n! robot

Nemesis was like a total remake of Wrath of Khan but without the emotional component.

I like how whenever they're gonna crash the ship they always make Deanna drive. Is she the only one who can't get courtmartialed for crashing the Enterprise?

I may be the only one with this opinion, but Star Trek: Generations is the best of the Next-Gen movies by a long shot. First Contact is a good action movie, but Generations is thematically a better story.

Nope, I agree with you 100%, Drew. I think First Contact is also a very good movie, but Generations is the more nuanced and interesting film.

So now we may be the only two with that opinion!

Just don't watch STII on your computer screen. All the editing flaws jump out at you.

I voted for III because of Jim Ignatowski the Klingon and his pet warg.

Nemesis coulda been cool if they'd stuck with their Romulan promise and not just given us "Remans".

The biggest problem with Generations was the whole Nexus bit. They built it up to be a perfect paradise. However, when Picard gets there, it has no effect on him. He realizes it's not "real" right away and is able to completely brush it aside. I don't know about you, but for me, it would be harder to walk away from pure paradise.

Also, when he did go, they went back in time to stop Soran at the planet, before he blew up that sun. I never did figure out why Picard didn't go back in time to the point where he had Soran on the Enterprise and just eliminate him then. Just sloppy writing.

Except for the acting, directing and most of the writing; Free Enterprise was a great movie.

Consider yourself lucky.

By the way, the best Star Trek movie? Galaxy Quest.
