Is it so f*cking hard to keep a vacuum system up and running? Apparently it is. It dies. In the middle of my experiment. During the I am in the tissue culture hood sucking media and things part. The same part of my experiment that keeps messing up cause the damned vacuums been f***ing failing. I am tired of every 12 H time points and repeating them cause of technical fricking error cause of the damned vacuums.

The official verdict is that the vacuums are operating above capacity. And that is why they have failed spontaneously for the last month. And every weekend. Usually when I am working.

To which I say WTF. This is a RESEARCH facility. How can you not anticipate that we will use the vacuums. A lot. Bullshit.

I i called facilities. And told them ever so nicely that I would like it fixed. Now that I will not ooze sarcasm in the email I need to email the boss and the lady in out building in charge of making sure this shit doesn't happen. She is doing a wonderful job at it. :glare:

On a somewhat related sidenote, I have destroyed two regular vacuums so far while doing improvement work in our new house.

One exploded (that was fun!), and the other is in the process of dying a slow painful death.

But anyways, good luck kicking Facilities' ass!

Oooh, Toggy is angry. If I were in in Texas I would either be offering you a hug to make you feel better, or I would be hiding behind the file cabinet to avoid your wrath.

The vacuum lines in the building suck -- or rather don't. Even when they were working (2 years ago -- was that the last time I was at the bench? Geez.), they didn't pull much of a vacuum. The air lines blow, too -- or rather don't. Wait -- do we have air lines? I don't think so. You know, I didn't even have a gas line at my bench. They had to come put one in!! yuk

Told you Monday you shouldn't do this experiment this week! soblue

We're going out to lunch with Raquel tomorrow because she's going back to Portugal (where it's always raining). Wanna come?

@everyone else: Yeah, I'm using this QuickReply instead of email.

No gas!? How are you supposed to use a Bunsen burner?

Noon. Or 11:30. We're going to Pam's Patio!

Dude, that sucks.

No, wait, it doesn't, which is what sucks. It sucks that it doesn't suck.
